From that crucifix position he just didnt have the power or endurance to put more strength into his shots. I also think Kimbo didnt exactly help himself by going for that knee strike because it only helped Roy get the takedown.
Roy is gonna get his ass beat so bad at hw. Its not even funny. This is probably one of the first TUFs ive seen where I actually dont think any of the contestants will do too well against the current top 10 hws but he anything is possible.

The reason there aren't many good heavyweights are because of the mindset of big people in general. Most of the time they go their whole life relying on size over technique where as guys who are smaller have to have a lot of technique to make up for their size (which is also a reason I think fedor has been so successful, he's had to overcome) . This is also why imo I think Brock Lesnar is so successful because he works very hard and is a student. The second you think you're good, you get satisfied and stop learning. Brock is always learning and has confidence in his skills. It's his mindset that sets him apart. He can be successful at anything he does. Back to the point, there aren't many big people in the world as opposed to smaller people. Also, it's harder for a bigger man to run 5 miles than it is for a little man because of the much more needed oxygen needed for the bigger muscles. The division is thin because of these reasons imho and there is no reason to argue about the quality of HW's as opposed to the lighter weight classes.

That was the turning factor in the 2nd round imo.

I agree, the crucifix position is an awkward position to punch in and hard to generate power but I think Roy could of put a little more power into it but obviously he didn't need to and he proved his point.
I think there was no getting around kimbo being taken down, it would of happened eventually but kimbo definitely didn't do himself any favors.
Kimbo needs to drop to 205. There are many other UFC heavyweights that are much larger and stronger than Big Country. Kimbo stands no chance against: Lesnar, Carwin, Gonzaga, ect.
All of the successful smaller heavyweights have mjuch larger skill sets than K Slice.
I hope Kimbo can put it together because he is fun to watch. The more I see him, the more I can't help but to like him.

I really don't understand why people are ragging on Nelson for not hitting hard enough from the crucifix. He is unable to turn any of his weight over into the punch because of how the position works, so its entirely arm punching. Also, Kimbo looked really bad in the 2nd round, having Nelson on top of him pummeling his forehead for 1.5 minutes or so obviously took its toll on him. Even though those punches don't do a ton of damage in 1 hit, the accumulation of 40-50 punches that Kimbo ate while in that position probably felt pretty bad. I'm curious to see how Kimbo's forehead looks on the next episode, Nelson made it sound pretty bad.
In the interview it sounded like Nelson was being very sarcastic, was more interesting then most interviews I read. He's got a pretty solid ground game, and although he's already pretty established inside the mma community as a veteran but not a top 10 HW, I think he is a solid gatekeeper at least, like maybe Keith Jardine level.
Kimbo + Roy in the "Rematch" finale! It is so fukkin obvious, just by how Roy,Kimbo, and Dana talk, not to mention Rashad.
Why do you people think Dana said this was the best season ever? You seen how he talks about Kimbo already, Kimbo's nuts are in his mouth! Dana would not have said this if his boy was out for the season.
Second, look at Roys interview?!!! Just look at it! It's so obvious! He would not be talking like this if he was not going to fight Kimbo in Dec. I will come with quotes shortly.
Roy says in a different interview that he "will" fight Kimbo differently once in "THE" rematch infront of a crowd. Why use the word "THE" instead of "a"???
In no way do I feal this season was set-up in any way, i just feel Kimbo ended up whoopin some ass before the season ended and Dana got his wish.
BTW, I LOVE me some Kimbo!!! I just love the way the man fights on his feet, and he brings force with his punches! His ground game needs to improve, but what ta do when you got the MOON on ya??? lol
Kimbo reminds me of the Houston Alexander of the HW division, if Kimbo ever droped down to LH (which I feel a need for), he will be a FORCE!
I am happy that Nelson says the things how they really are, I mean, he practically said that Kimbo is just a money machine, no matter if he knows how to fight or not.
Personally I dont like Nelson as a fighter, neither too much as a person, but I am glad that he owned Kimbo and ruined a little bit the plans that Dana had at the beginning.
I thought Roy was kinda more or less tapping on Kimbo while in the crucifix. I understand he didn't want to gas, but there didn't seem to be any meat behind those strikes and Dana hit it right on the head about it looking like a fight one would have if they let their little daughter pound on them.
Props to Roy for winning and taking it to the ground, but he really did nothing of consequence to Kimbo and true, there was like 25 punches thrown each round, but they looked like sparring-level strikes, opposed to what you'd give a true foe. Kimbo didn't look too worse for wear after the bout either.

Man I can't see Kimbo being able to drop to 205. Yea he's only 235 but the dude is shredded. I do not know his strength but he's got huge upper body and I think him trying to drop would destroy what little cardio I think he has already as well as his potential strength. In fact I think complete opposite of you, I think he should bulk up his lower body particularily his quads etc. His legs looked pretty chickeny (I know not a word) to me and I think he would benefit from thicker legs.
Just thought I would point out that one of the leg kicks he threw can't remember which round looked fantastic.
But I agree with Fedorlei Gomipierre...Kimbo is a joke.
Best line ever!
GSP to Jackson-I pulled my groin
Jackson to GSP-Forget about your groin, Hit him with your groin!
funniest line i've heard so far!
chico76-"Bisping gonna get beat so bad he'll look like he's been ass raped by an eight dicked walrus"
