I agree. Also, what the first season of the Contender did that I thought was great was show the fighter's support system by moving their wives, children, parents and trainers out so the guys could visit them before the fight.
We don't really get much background info on the guys except for the obligatory "I had a tough life growing up" and "I do this for my son, to give him a better life".
