TUF House Trashing Discussion

it's not the ufc encouraging them to destroy the house as much as it is the production crew. I'm sure when the first person broke something, everyone was like ohhhh shit and then production was like na man go ahead and trash the place. we dont care

I'm guessing producers of show would want to re-decorate house anyway between sesons so they just don't care much, and it gives them some usable screen-time as well.

Not only is it childish... it's completely played out. It's been done fellas...

I'm not going to go as far as to say that UFC encourages destroying the house, but they do not discourage it either.

They do however encourage the alcohol. They banned it in season 2 and had literally no drama in the house at all. But once they put it back in they had guys sittin around talking shit, buddying up, saying dumb stuff, etc. Then the house would get a little trashed and noone said anything, then it got worse, and worse. Now its becoming a tradition. The liquor is the problem.

16 dudes in a house of 6+ weeks
no TV, Radio, or Magazines
No women
only allowed out to the gym 2-4 hours a day
unlimited supply of alcohol & food

Really, you have 2 choices, drink or eat. And these dudes have to make weight, or its Cakezilla all over again, so that limits the options.

Add in to the mix that the only real rule in the house is, "make it good TV" and that's what you get.

Just for the record - Matt Riddle and Jeremy May should never have even been invited to try out. Neither guy has any 'professional' about them.

I saw somewhere, I can't remember if it was someone who was on the show being interviewed or the Spike special about TUF, but the guys are told before the show starts that they can destroy the house.

it doesn't really cost much to plaster a wall and paint it again. I mean, the doors are pieces of crap 20$ doors. There probably isn't a single piece of original drywall in that place left from the previous seasons. Tables and chairs and shit are a dime a dozen to them. I'd say in all, they probably blow about 3 -5 grand in renovations to that house after each season which is jack shit to the forbes magazine quoted "Billion Dollar Empire." I'm sure Dana doesn't even worry about it because it is probably outsourced to some lackey so he probably never even sees the bill for it.

Oh I couldn't agree more. May intentionally tried to provoke another cast member to attack him to get him kicked off the show, using racial and religious epithets to to do it. He should have been kicked off the show for that alone.

Then Matt Riddle hasn't done anything worthwhile the whole show but change his hair color, he is boring as anyone in TUF history, and to make matters worse, he is one of only 3-4 guys already booked for the finale. Where's the sense?

i didnt see anything wrong with what happened , ive smashed some
holes in my own house , its add a bit more entertainment and is
quite funny ,why complain about what your wives say , i say nuthing
