Should All the TUF fighters make it into the UFC?

is it me, or would the show be a lot more interesting if only the winner makes it into the UFC?

I think a couple things would happen.. the fighters on the show would show a lot more heart, and push harder.. there would be a lot more emotion shown.. and overall it would be a lot better competition

obviously the mentallity of the fighters are shaken when they know if they lose, they still get a contract.

I think out of the 12 or so fighters on TUF.. 1 makes it to the UFC, 11 goes to the WEC. Opinions?

In the end, I think the final 4 (or at least, top 2) should go to the UFC, the people who make it to the second round should be offered a WEC contract, and anyone who lost beyond that should be happy they had the experience and learn from it.

As for all of them getting a chance to shine on TUF Finale, I don't see why not.

But I am with you Afro, they shouldn't all get contracts. Especially because so many of them don't put in their full effort.

I think you are right though, if everyone didn't get a contract, people would be working a lot harder.

Sending them to the WEC would give the WEC some appeal to those who follow the UFC through TUF.

Honestly wouldnt it be smart for a TUF fighter to just breeze threw the show once they get on?

I mean if they lose on the show, it doesnt effect there record.. so why put in full effort? i'd lose the first fight and then go home and relax knowing i'd be called back for the Finale and offered a contract. Then I would actually start taking things serious.. TUF is like an easy road to the UFC right now, when it shouldnt be.

Well I guess if u really think about it.... the weaker ones will be weeded out eventually anyways and cut from their contracts if they cannot pull any wins.

While that is true, those prelim spots could be used on people who really want to do something in the sport. Not guys who want a career in accounting in a year or two and want to avoid getting hit in the face.



Dana is already heading in this direction with how he is going to start off the new season.

You know most of those guys (if not all) are never going to be seen on UFC programming again.

It would be nice if they only took the top 4...but the UFC is also about showcasing popularity, even if it's not supported by top tier talent. So I don't see it happening in the near future.

I don't know that the casual fans would make the intuitive leap to follow a charismatic but C level fighter from the UFC to the WEC.

Minimally, I don't think TUF fighters who are not champions should appear on PPV's until they've won two consecutive fights. They can be showcased on UFN's, in my opinion.

Howabout cutting everyone but the winner, but allowing them to appear on future TUF seasons?

I think they should offer contracts to all of the winners in the Finale. Along with the top 4 reguardless if they win or not. I also like the idea of sending the losers to the WEC.

There is a reason why they don't all make it - some of them just suck or put on a boring fight. Nearly everyone that gets into the house gets onto the TUF finale. But even if you have a good performance on the finale that doesn't mean you will still get anything after that.

The UFC has done a fantastic job of cutting the fat so to speak with regards to the fighters on the show. The fighters either put on a good fight, or get the boot and go onto other organizations.

The goal of TUF is to find the best talent and personality. Personality alone won't get you in if you have a boring fight or if you just get dominated.

I do agree that most of the guys should go to the WEC, but the problem is the WEC doesn't put on that many shows.
