Matt Arroyo director's cut?

ok, i'm watching the pre-finale marathon right now and its the ep where matt says he's injured and can't fight. when i watched it wednesday they basically said he had a cracked rib and that was it. i'm watching it now and there was a conference call between serra and dana and dana said the doctor said he could fight, he's 100% fine. there was a lot of extra stuff that showed arroyo in a much less favorable light. anyone else catch this?

yeah i noticed that.and i dont remember that being in wednesday's show.i thought i may have stepped out on that part,but looks like im not the only one that didnt see that weds.

It dosen't matter if his rib was cracked or not if you don't feel right then don't fight. If he fought he would have been fucked in his head and would have been like a sacrifical lamb to Mac. If anyone says otherwise there full of shit.

i agree completely, but the reason i pointed it out is because after wednesday's show hughes said something about arroyo maybe pussing out in his blog and he got criticized for saying these things so i wonder if they changed it so that hughes could save a little face or something. its just interesting, that's all.

if he said he has a cracked rib thats not 100% fine. eithor dana is lying or matt is lying. and i think it would probably be dana who is lying. or maybe just exagerating. dana doesnt understand just if your cleared to fight doesnt mean you can.

if he had a cracked rib theres no way he was going to fight through it, trust me.

nobody is going to fight with a cracked rib.

Sacrificial lamb or not, he still would have lost to Danzig. I think he knew that going in and thought he had a better shot of winning a match on the TUF finale fully healed, thus making him look better and keeping the loss off his record. I did like Matt, though. He looks like a really good fighter.

Hughes is fond of calling people out for faking rib injuries.

I'm no expert with X-rays or CT scans, but I can believe that there was something wrong with his rib even without it showing up on a scan.

I think he made the smart move for his career, I just got over a cracked rib a couple months ago and i hard a very painfull time breathing,I for sure as hell wasn't willing to fight anyone

I think he knew he would lose the fight if he went in injured and he probably knew if he was healthy they would put him on the TUF Finale Show,which they did. He won and now i gurantee we'll see him again in the UFC

i noticed that call as well lastnight and i just so happened to have the ep shown wednesday downloaded and everyonme is right. it wasnt in that ep

The man knows his own body and if you've had a rib injury than you know it's a bastard to deal with. A bad rib injury makes even breathing hurt. It obviously wasn't that bad since he was able to continue on with his training.

It just looks odd since most guys take an injury that would stop them from fighting on the show very, very badly. If that injury happened to someone else in the semi's I'm sure you would have seen wide range of emotions like anger, sadness - all that.

He was just so calm and matter of fact with not fighting that it looks weird.
