He shulda gone Silva on his ass, hooked a leg, elevated, slam and broken shoulder "a la" sakuraba. But yeah, serra comes off like sucha prick and i dun think its editing either. LOL hughes is the man, u cant help but think hughes is doing all this to prove to the world that hes a nice guy...and so far its working! WAR HUGHES

Matt Hughes keeps reminding me of Jonathan Kent on the show Smallville mixed in with every movie football coach ever all rolled into one. It's really making me like him. And yes I know he's an asshole when he's interviewed about fights. He just comes off as inspiring on this show though. But that's the magic of editting.

I actually don't really mind Matt Hughes. I know he can be a dickwad but I can tolerate it. The editing is doing him wonders right now. And Joey is a huge pussy. Even with his doubts and such about fighting in the UFC, I was still quite surprised he just went out and threw his life away like that.

I can understand the camera ordeal and shit but he didn't even try to stick it out. I loved when that one guy just ripped into him for leaving. That was some great shit. I understand other reasons why Serra didn't want him training people, because honestly, who wants to be trained by a quitter?

Hughes bringing in all the fried food did seem kind of weird, but I guess it is a good change of pace from sushi. That could just be the farmboy in matt... Mama always probable made the best damn fried chicken!

Was that guilitine really in deep? I thought it kind of looked like he could of pulled out, like it sort of looked like he just froze and didnt no what to do. Just my thoughts of course.

if the cameras was the reason for joey quiting i understand. i worked in a casino for three years...when employees just started they couldn't handle the thousands of cameras watching them and about 150 people quit within a week!. about 30 people quit after their first day! people quit on their first day because of the cameras! BUT i think joey just didn't want to be their and fight....so i do feel he's a panzee.

The food thing with hughes was wierd...hughes thought he was the better man for bring food....kinda childish.

as for the fight..i didn't seee it..so, no comment.

I'm a serra fan, so take this with a grain of salt:

My thoughts on Episode 3:

We all thought Hughes was in the head of Serra early in the show. Now it appears as if Serra is in Hughes' head as well. Hughes is saying he can't stand Serra, just tries to ignore him, etc. Hughes even thought that he was pretty great for bringing fried food to his guys when Serra didn't bring his guys anything.

Also, Hughes' idea of coaching in the past two episodes has seemed to be to tell his fighter how great they are and how badly they are going to beat up their opponent. It also looks as if in the future, now Hughes will coach by simply pushing his team too hard for no reason.

Now that I've covered that subject onto my thoughts:

Joey deserves any negative thing that happens to him. It is a shit thing to do to a guy that I'm sure pulled a string or two to get you on the show. He went out of his way to talk him off the ledge, twice! Then Dana did it. In the past Dana would of told the fighter to stop being a pussy and deal with it, but Dana was genuinely being nice to Scarolla. When Serra told him that if he left, he would be giving up not only the biggest break ever in his career, but he would lose his best friend, and his job. All for some trim? He is a douche, and Serra gave the guy a lot more rope than any other TUF coach ever would have. Editting or not, Joey leaving is disgusting, I hope when they do the "Where Are They Now?" for this show, Joey is working as a dishwasher in some pizzaria somewhere.

On to the fight. Why would you stand up while in a guilotene? That was lesson number two in JJ class (lesson 1= don't leave neck exposed). Billy not only choked, he gave up. He had no idea what to do once he got shot on. As soon as that happened all of his trainning went out the window and he was nothing more than a heavybag.

I hope Joey's girlfriend was cheating on him, then breaks up with him after the show for being such a complete block headed, infantile, pussy snot, shitheaded wuss...

As for Miles, I feel bad for him. He definitely froze. Who can say whether it will happen to them or not. Maybe Hughes made a mistake choosing him to fight when he was so heavy. Maybe dropping the weight effected his spirit and sapped his strength - maybe it was those chicken wings and fries...

It is an interesting season.... what if, in the end, Serra knocks Hughes out?
