There are about 15 prolific users that I'd love to use executive power to nuke completely from the site because I think they got into MMA a year ago and don't have a fucking clue about how completely off-base their hard-defended and oft-posited convictions are...but it's the internet, and I don't really care enough about them to sink to the level of censorship. But as foolish and misguided as they are, they're no less foolish or misguided than the morons at Sherdog or mmaspot.net.
I missed all the fireworks, but the fact of the matter is that Sandy should know better. Yes, he's more knowledgable and passionate about MMA than the majority of the posters here...but he's also smart enough to know how to go about things without becoming the "lord of chaos" and going on a clusterfuck run.
There are guys--at both forums--who I absolutely have zero respect for...but it's the internet. It doesn't fucking matter, because I'm sure they have zero respect for me--I'd probably be disturbed if someone as apparently fucked as they are
didn't entirely disrespect me.
There is no argument clearly and cogently explained that I can make that will get very stupid people to realize exactly how fucking stupid they are...so I ignore something like 90% of their posts because it would be a waste of my time to point out every little dumbfuck mistake in their faulty logic. Maybe that makes me a shitty mod and maybe that's even part of why this forum sucks ass in comparison to how it was when I was just an lurker 3-4 years ago; but it doesn't change the fact that it would be a waste of my time to try to steer every single one of their posts towards legitimacy.
But at least I don't go deliberately punching more holes in a sinking ship.
There are still
very good posters here. They're few and far between, but they're there, and though I don't necessarily agree with them all the time, they get the bulk of my attention; because I'd rather spend my energy trying to build something up rather than take the easy road and tear it down.

Sorry, but this is bullshit revisionist history. The mods who got fired were not all qualified nor diligent...some were fuckups, like Bullock, and were just as responsible for fucking up the board as any troll--many had cutsey fake-accounts for exactly that purpose. I'm not saying everyone who was lost in the fire deserved to go, but the rose colored glasses aren't working for me.
Oh, and nobody has ever asked me to to any imaginary interweb lines. I vacillate between blowing this shit off entirely and not often enough where even a single imposition contrary to my integrity would be enough for me to wash my hands and walk away. It's the internet, it's not important enough for me to tow any fucking lines.
The rest of your shit isn't horribly off base, and I agree that this site is a mess visually and that the promised revamps will probably never occur, but the fact remains that mmaspot is just as full of morons and trolls as mmanews. That's like arguing that your retards are less retarded than our retards...and sadly, they're not. Stupidity and ignorance is the very currency of the interweb. Well, that and porn, I guess.
