There are people on these forums who I think are ignorant, racist and pathetic wastes of human flesh, and I'm sure there are those who think the same about me. When it comes to some of these people, at least for the most part I try to just ignore their posts because it's usually nonsense.

There are other avatars that I may come across that make me stop and at least glance at the post. Like yours for instance--If I'm scrolling through a thread and I see Drama's picture, I'm more than likely going to look at the post because I recognize it as you, whom I consider a respectable and knowledgeable poster.

Same goes for Sundance's avatar of that fighter, what's his name? Ian Suckuberry? I know he sucks and got raped by Terry Martin (kidding dont let your g string get stuck too far up your arse) but whenever I see that avatar, I usually stop and take a glance at the post. Same goes with all the mods and admins because either they are vets of the forums or they are knowledgeable and insightful posters. There are plenty of other avs and sigs that draw my attention, but there are way more forums members that I choose to skip over their posts because it's not even worth taking 30 seconds to read imo.

We already have this in a way with Noob Jack City and the General Forum, but I think it would be nice to have another thread for people who have been here long enough, have at least a 1000 posts, and maybe a certain number of rep. It kind of sucks coming to the forums now-a-days because it is starting to remind me of sherdog more and more everyday, simply because of the growth. MMANews fortunately lacks a large number of trolls

I feel pretty much the same way you do about the state of the forum and certain people who post. I personally ignore about 80% of the posters and just read veteran posters posts like yours, mauladala, deeznizzies, ufo, palma, smoogy, Legend, Afro, Foutch, Rivethead, kc56, Jokertheif and the mods posts.

There are a few other vets that I read up but can't remember their names atm and would take up too much space but thats really about it because most of those are the ones that actually have a damn clue about what they're talkin about.

I just can't be bothered to read a bunch of copy and paste responses 40 times in a row in a single thread alone, which is one reason why I really haven't been posting in the general MMA forum for a while because most things that I wanted to say or could have been said are posted already.

I just wish there were more things to talk about on the main MMA boards instead of the same old shit all the time. I know you guys really can't help that but just saying that is one reason why things have been stale as of late.

And the politics/religion section, that isn't even worthy of being brought up. The section the way I see it is pretty much designed for flame wars and etc, and to be quite honest, I go in there for that alot of the time because that stuff is hilarious and interesting for forums.

I think the forum deteriorated for a period of time, but I think the quality has been very good overall the past 6 months or so...

It doesn't bother me that the site has grown so much. This is the best MMA site I have ever been to.

Legend will be back just as I came back.

Agreed. This is and will always be the best MMA site bar none. This site at its worst is shitdogs.. hell what am I saying, shitdog could never even hold a candle to this site.

4 years ago was about the time I joined up on that site and all I saw really was constant fighter bashing for no reason or threads with stupid gay porn pics and such.

But I will never forget the thread where Bas Rutten completely destroys Jason De Lucia on there for accusing Bas of roiding. That was epic.

I know I completely ignore some threads I see now. For me it is more the whole market is stale of news. We have 5 new Fedor and 3 new Coutour threads everyday where it rehashes what the previous days thread said. Now I either completely ignore the thread or just read the first post to see if it is anything new. Then if it is something new I will browse the responses quickly. More often than not I don't get past the first few posts. If I see a new topic, or even a new point of view on something I read it and get a little excited.

Like Triangle said, there are certain posters who usually have very insitefull posts. Clint usually clearly articulates what he wants to get across and makes good points. Sundance is the queen of one word answers that get me to laugh. Triangle, I tend to disagree with alot, but gives good arguments for his opinion. warchief, even with this being his second or third whatever langauge, usually keeps me informed of whats going on and gives a good explanation of why he thinks something is. He also doesnt lose his cool when people bash him. I respect that.

I dont look at rep at all, i dont give out much of it. There are certain people who I always give rep to (DW or whatever the name is that always posts the fights) or anyone that posts the matchs after the PPV's.


All in all, this is a good community, but like all message boards it is a growing society. When it gets larger those who were originally here dont like it anymore... It isnt how they remember it. THey start thinking things like "back when this started..." Basically they dont want change.

The BIGGEST problem though is that we can no longer have "Where is Evan Tanner" threads.... *cries*

Because there is TOO many mods,and some like tothrow their little bit weight around here sometimes . When i first came on here before the site was reconstucted, there was one mod and that was it. I can see that there needs to be more than one but there is way way way too many here. Posters dont like coming on here to talk mma and have all there shit deleted by a power hungry mod. Not saying that all are like that but it happens a lot. To me the purpose for a mod is to keep the forums clean and flowing and relevant.

And on the rep issue, its kinda juvenile in some regaurds, but i dont mind it anymore. I like the fact that the site can keep leaches coming on here and going strait to the pics and vids without contributing.

Also, i forget who posted it but they made a really good point and ill rep them for it lol, but ya when i first started coming on there wasnt as many posters and you pretty knew everybody on here. Now theres just so many posters its like every post is just the same
