I mentioned this to my gf last night and she said it was sick too but then thought for a moment and said, "Well if you're stranded in the desert with no water, you can drink it." I hsould've slapped on a triangle choke for that.

That is a little strange. I'll give him the survival part, I would drink it too if I were going to die otherwise. Short of that, I don't think I'll be tempted to drink my own urine any time soon.

Actually unless it is filtered, you will end up overtaxing your kidneys as they try to refilter out all of the waste. |

In Iraq we used to piss on our feet when we showered to prevent us from getting athletes foot. It worked too....though we probably would have had less of a chance of getting athletes foot if everyone would just stop pissing on the shower floor. Hmmm......

I actually read an article about this a couple of years ago. Apparently a lot of people do it. As a former science geek, I am not really sure what the nutritional value is given the fact that your body has already taken all the nutrients from it and the rest is waste.
But I did think of something ironic. I have heard of people who's breath smells like shit, but have you ever known someone who's breath smells like piss? My advice is if you ever meet him in person, cover your noses.

Using and drinking urine is very helpfull to you're health, believe it or not and many people doing that in my place, it's already natural to them...urine has a lot of health benefits. IMO

The problem is that Urine is waste products that your body does not want/cannot absorb. By drinking the urine you are introducing those waste products back into your body for your kidneys to filter out along with the toxins from daily processes. So I don't see where the benefits would be since the good stuff has already been absorbed and the bad stuff will all need to be reprocessed.
