Ive fucked my back up more times in the last 6 months then I have my whole 9 combined season of football and rugby. The toradol shot Ive heard of, I guess they have pills of it too, they gave me that the second time I hurt my lower back. The shots basically stop the pain now by this monster shot of relaxants, the whole Relaxant/Anti-Inflammatory is pretty standard with acute back pains.
I REALLY hurt my upper back earlier this month...(funny story) Dont ask me how or why it happened, but I had braced myself with one arm on my chair, and bent over to unplug my xbox, when I pulled it I dropped to my knees in this unreal pain. I didnt go to the doctor, just took some muscle relaxants and anti inflammatories from the previous two times I went to see someone.
The most retarded part was the more I tried to stretch it out, even though I felt like i was ging to burst out crying it hurt so bad, it would feel better when I finally laid down for bed. If it's compressing your spine you may want to avoid that for right now. What I did the first few times, and I'd probably recommend it using my obvious medical knowledge...is before bed take a hot shower after you take your pills, just let the heat work on your back, then go to bed. Once it starts to get more bareable, try stretching it out. Nothing HUGE but have a go at regular stretches liek if you strained your back at the gym.
A Site for Sore Backs:Exercise Some goos stretches right there depending on how your back feels and your pain threshold. Just be careful doing them , and for gods sake dont over do it, you just want to make sure its loosened up so you can do shit without whining all day like i did.
*EDIT* Yeah, just to reiterate what the doctor said, dont sit around nursing it all day either, it'll hurt like a bitch now, but will be better alot sooner if you just get up and try to walk around and shit. Get the blood flowing in or around the area, try not to nurse it (like limp around if its affecting our walking) too much
