Default Alliance Jiu-Jitsu *Please Help*

So as some of you know I do train but have never trained at an official school. Well I've gotten fat enough on my training regimen, so I've decided to join a BJJ gym. The closest one to my house is about a 30min drive away and that's really not that bad. It is an Alliance Gym that is run by BILLY FLETCHER who is a brown belt under Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti. I haven't checked the Gym out yet, but wondered if anyone had any advise or if anyone had any experience with Alliance and could give me some in site on it.

Any help would be apprechated.

Also I know there are some people that post here that live relatively close to me and wanted to know Where/If you guys train and if anyone has any experience with this gym in particular?

Please Check out there website and tell me what you guys think.:

Dude I just replied to this stop posting it everywhere. Alliance is one of the best Like I said in the other thread. Marcello trains there and he probably comes up to do seminars for them. He does for quest so I would think he would with his own camp.

lol that's where I train. Or at least where I did train before my schedule got so crazy. I have not gone in like 2 months. But after I finally move into my new house this week I plan on going back next week. I would really like to get a class in this week but not sure if I will.

Anyway, it is a good gym. Kinda hard to find at first but they have good instructors and all the guys I trained with were really helpful. Most of them made a point of meeting me when I first signed up and were all pretty cool. If you do join I recommend going to the day classes. They are smaller and as a result have more time to focus more on technique. You will also be given access to there weight gym if you join but I never go there bc I am already a member of a gym right down the road.

Cool....I would have to take the day classes most of the time because I work 2nd shift sun-wend. so I would be taking the morning classes then and maybe doing the afternoon classes on thurs through Sat.

Any idea of the cost of the gym???It didn't say on the internet. I plan on going to check the gym out tomorrow or Thrusday.

I'm sure they have schools all around. The instructor of this school trains directly under Jacare who is the founder of Alliance. But travels to Alt every week to train with him there. So I assume they are based out of ATL?...

The guy that runs this school...Billy Fletcher.... is also the only certified Militich Fighting System instructor in South Carolina.

RVB said that the Monthly Fee is 80 bucks but I assume this inclueds all the classes that you want to attend and access to the weight room. Is this a good price?

what is the average price for a membership for BJJ?

They also offer kickboxing and wrestling as well as conditioniing classes nutrision people flexiblity stuff and I'm sure there is other stuff also.....

HEre is there Calender for the month of Sept:

I'm not sure where they are based out of, but Alliance is a big JJ school organization. Marcelo Garcia (personal God), the Jacare you mentioned, Fabio Gurgel, and a long resume of other very good and great JJ practicioners.

I would say 80 dollars is neither here nor there as a price. It depends on what you're getting for that. If that includes all of your boxing, kickboxing, JJ, and whatever else then that is a great price considering it's an alliance gym.

On average, I would say 80 dollars is an average price. But for a school with the history of Alliance that's a good price no matter what. If it means unlimited classes, then that's a very good price.

I would say definitely find out what the $80 includes. Send an email or maybe call. Let the instructor know what you're looking for and ask any questions you might have. Takes only like 5 minutes, but a lot of times they will mention a few things that you wouldn't have thought of.

But I could sit here and list stuff all day long. Bottom line, if I found an Alliance school with unlimited classes for $80 a month, I would go. Drive 30 minutes, switch schools, whatever it took.
