Default What's up with Huston Alexander?

He started his UFC career with two huge wins over Jardine and Sakara and then after that? Nothing. Dissapointment. Now with three losses in a row, is the UFC even going to keep him? It's a shame he's doing so bad, I just want to see him knock people out.

Houston doesn't have a ground game, and until he finds one we're going to see him gettin owned. I like the guy, he has a great story, he's fun to watch, til it hits the ground. Then I just feel bad watching a guy just tryin to support his six kids, get choked out or pounded.

Not so fun, to be honest.

He just signed a new contract right before this fight so I think he is good. As good as his standup might be he needs to go to a camp like Link or something to help him with his ground game because it is bad really bad.

His standup isn't even good IMO. He is a nice guy but he is not a good fighter in any area except power. Put him in their with two of the most inconsistent fighters in mma (Sakara and Jardine) who think he is a can and want to strike with him, then he will get wins. He won't win anymore now that the fighters know what he is about.

Agree.

I remember when people were saying he was the next champ an things like that.

He stand up isn't that good, but like you said he has power. Standing is dangerous because of that power.

But he is poor cardio, his chin doesn't look great, and he has no ground game. Also he is 35 or 36. So he isn't going to get much better imo, only down hill from here.

Maybe he should try 185

i think he needs to join american top team imo, build up his ground game. his standup is decent to good, but everyone knows his weakness after thiago gnp him. i think the irvan fight was a fluke, if irvan wouldnt have landed that superman punch, i think we would have seen another highlight reel knockout from houston. Irvan and Houston have none to little experience on the ground, so I hope that one day houston can win a couple and get a rematch with irvan, to boost his confidence. basically i think if he doesnt have an impressive win next fight, we will see him fight about once every eight months...
