Nick Diaz... doesn't make sense to me.

So, I'm a Nick Diaz fan. On Saturday, I have myself a beer and watch his fight. And, again, Nick Diaz makes me think that I don't know what the hell I'm looking at.

It's completely possible that I'm blind, but it always seems as though the shots he's taking are thrown harder, and the shots he's landing are slow. Now, granted, his shots are accurate, and his form is great, but... still. It's like the guy absorbs the shock taken and shoots them back out of his knuckles. I watch his land punch after punch, right on the button, but they all seem so slow compared to the shots he takes.

Am I crazy? What's going on there?

Diaz always eats a shitload of punches in his fights. Dude just doesn't move his head enough,and back out of situations when he should.

I also think it's his size. He's coming down from around 170,or even 180 just to fight in that division,and dudes like Denny and Noons are putting on weight just to make 160. I think alot of the guys just have more speed then Diaz.

Haha thats exactly what my buddy said when we were watching the fight on Sat. I think it is a mixture of him constantly moving forward, and waving his arms in the air to throw in his punches with not moving his head (as stated above).

I dont recall many of his fights where he doesn't get beat up a little....I actually thought Denny was winning the beginning of the fight.

THe thing with Diaz is he doesnt stop. If he gets off to a good start and smells blood that fucker is relentless. Problem is he will always be in danger of getting KOed the way he fights. The guy is only 24, if he can stop taking so much punishment each fight he'll be around for a long time...

i was actually thinking the exact same thing..it doesnt look like hes throwing a lot of power behind his punches...but whatever hes doing, it seems to work

i agree with most peoples points. diaz never backs up, moves forward most of the time and lands those "not so hard punches" with more consistency than the guys who swing harder. he wears on his opponents and after a few of those shots from diaz, you're probably seeing things a bit funny. he knows when a fighter is getting worn down and like someone said before, he smells blood and those bunches of little kid punches turn into TKO's. he does have some power however, ask the 185lb EXC champion.
