yea i dont think anyone said anything about silva dropping his belt. i'm sure this is just a one time thing against irvin since ufc probably needed a big name for the card, who better than the number one p4p fighter in the world? i'm sure they would have went w/ silva vs. okami but something probably prevented that from happening in just five weeks so they opted to have anderson vs. irvin. i wouldnt mind seeing anderson move up later, but i'd like to see him fight okami first for the title and then go up; that match has just been talked about for the longest now and needs to happen (okami/silva that is).
but if the mw was vacated, then i think the most logical fight would be okami vs. franklin. henderson is coming off 2 losses so i highly doubt ufc would throw him in another title fight right off the bat.

knowing Anderson i'm pretty sure he is not gonna just drop the belt.. he will want to fight at both weight division.
