who's gonna go up in the rankings by beating irvin? not a soul. this is just to get a main event for the show on short notice and get some ideas of how anderson will perform at 205. if any division can have its champ defend less, its middleweight because of the few top contenders that he hasn't already beaten.

EDIT: also, i'll bet they got anderson to main event against the affliction show so UFC could advertise a show with the best p4p fighter in the world as a jab against affliction's Fedor.

If Silva moving up to 205 means he is vacating the title, the only logical choice would be Franklin-Okami II for the title. Sign Henderson to fight Bisping, Leben, or Quarry and if he wins, he gets a nother crack at a title shot. You can't ignore Okami and you can't ignore that Henderson has lost 2 in a row even if it was to top flight competition.

I don't think the UFC will keep Anderson as MW champ unless it's under the understanding that he fights more often. With these long layovers for the champ, I can't see him switching back and forth from 205 to 185 tying up that belt. I think he makes a push for the 205 title and makes some serious money. Their aren't any money matches at 185 for him. 205 there are lots.
