Default GSP

I have been thinking about GSP and his domination of his opponents in his last two appearances. He has been getting better and better the past couple years and has learned from his mistakes. He is a such a young fighter at the age of 26 and being at the top of the game at such a young as is amazing. Where does a fighter like GSP go developmental wise? In past UFC events they always say he is in his prime but I think he is still learning and developing the guy has great well rounded skills above most of the people in his division and has handeled the losses very well. I dont really see him being in his prime for another 3-5 years just imagine when he gets andersons age has all that experience how good he will be.

Well, GSP should definitely begin focusing on his boxing/striking. His head movement is atrocious at best. His foot work is relatively weak. His counter-punching isn't fantastic by any stretch, and his knees are questionable. It would seem to me that the only true improvements he has made were in the wrestling/top-game department. I would like to see him on his back and tested. He's big for welter and very strong. Let's see him fight Fitch and not fight a REMATCH before we make a decision on his true development/potential.

Being the man is one thing...staying the man is another.

That's a tough thing to do for any fighter as the art takes it toll on the body. GSP is lucky enough to be very young so if he stays focused he should be able to solidify himself as one of the UFC's greatest down the road.

I like what Steel said about staying the man. Thing is, now you're being watched every step of the way. Every fighter at that weight is analyzing you and preparing for you. It will be interesting to see where he is able to go with that added pressure.

I think he's a great talent, but being a great champ is a different animal. I am anxious to see how he does in his next 3 fights, provided they are against quality opponents.
