Honestly, I would love to see Rich head up to 205 and fight Machida again. I think Rich could do good things at 205. Imagine seeing him and Chuck Liddell go at it? I would love it.

I don't think Rich is done at 185 though. As much as a move to WEC would be good for him, Rich would own the division like Anderson does in the UFC and he would probably get real bored real quick.

3 more wins and maybe he will get a crack at Anderson again. I don't know if he will win.. but I think Rich can earn a shot.

Rich being a gatekeeper is a joke. There are two people in the UFC MW division who I think can beat him, Hendo and Anderson, no one else. Lutter MIGHT be able to beat Rich, and we will see that in a month, but I see Rich taking it.

Whether it be Marquardt, Leben, Sakara, Kampmann, Cote, etc... Rich takes em all.

Franklin, Hendo, and Silva are the solid top 3 fighters of the MW division.

There are plenty of people who aren't opposed to Chuck getting another crack at Quinton, like myself.

There is a difference between the divisions however..

LHW - STACKED Talent Pool for Title Contenders. Plenty of people deserve a shot or are a win away from a shot.

MW - Shallow Talent Pool for Title Contenders. Only contenders worthy of a shot are Rich Franklin (or Lutter, if he wins) and Dan Henderson (who just fought Anderson). The other person is Okami, who, if it had not been for a DQ win over Anderson, would not really be considered as much as he has been.

I think Rich Franklin can stay at 185 in the UFC and still be successful. The Hendo fight would be amazing and if Wandy makes the move down that would also be a great fight. 205 maybe a stretch for him however I dont think its a bad move for him. Theres a lot of fights there he's just not going to have the overwhelming strength advantage he had at 185. However, for Rich to regain any title he has to change camps imo. At the very least get some guys that can push him and his skills to the limit. Unless he completely retools his game though, I cant see him beating Silva.

I think he's in the same position Chuck is in which can be a good thing. Sure Rich and Chuck won't beat the champs in their divisions (both being 0-2) but they can put on great matches against guys in their division. Sure, the talent pool is larger in the LHW division but I'm sure people would want to see Rich fight Hendo, Nate the Great, Chris Leben (yeah yeah) and Ricardo Almeida. Plenty of fights I want to see happen with Rich in the equation.

I completely agree with Azur dog rich needs a change in camps, he is the elite fighter there and I don't think he is extremely challenged there (although his weight training is off the charts). He needs to change his game in order to give silva a run for his money because he is not going to out strike him.
