Default Why Pete Sell?

Why has the UFC given Pete Sell a spot on Fight Night after three straight losses? We have seen a one time contender like Dave "The Crow" Louiseau let go after losing two straight fights. Would someone kindly explain the difference?

Good thread, there have been a lot of guys that IMO should have been given another chance, I always liked Robbie Lawler and James Ervin, but these TUF guys always get on cards after losing fights.

True TUF is a big reason, but Sell has also pulled pretty good numbers.

=Smith/Sell was a crazy fight!
=With Cumo on the card they don't have to worry about any additional people backstage (same camp)
=Sell has the ability and power to make any fight exciting
=Dana loves him. He's a down to earth guy that Dana knows will never say "no" to a chance to fight.

Smith/Sell was a fight of the night
He always brings an exciting fight
Although he has a lot of losses, he has a some of them with controversy
and last but not least, he brings in $$$$$

you could ask the same thing about Leben, losing 3 out of his previous 4, and in ducking Swick, actually getting to choose his opponent. With Swick unable to fight, Leben would have been smarter to have taken the risk and actually signed on. But yeah, TUF guys often get preferential treatment far beyond their relative skill set and ranking.
