Dunno, havent seen much of Franklins sub game.. I know that only the best in MMA have sub'd Lindland I mean Fedor, Busta.. and when Busta sub'd him his sub game wasnt on par with what it is today.. Franklin almost got caught in a heel hook by an overaged Ken Shamrock so I would say its unlikely that Franklin subs him.. if Franklin wins its by TKO.

Thats why i said he wouldnt be able to fend him off for long. But Franklin does have a underrated ground game, it was either 9 or 11 of his wins have come from sub. Lindland can take him down but i dont think he can do much to Rich on the ground.

neither do i..because of rich's size i think lindland would have trouble gnp'ing him...i really think rich has underrated grappling and could sub lindland...if not that, find a way to his feet. not taking anything away from lindland's wrestling but i think rich could take him

Even though we havent seen much he is a bjj brown belt so I deffintly think he could sub him

I just think you gotta be more then that to sub Lindland I mean hes faced better in Lindland, Newton, Horn and didnt get sub'd then ya look at the guys who sub'd him.. Busta and Fedor.. there excellent when it comes to subs.

Hell Lindland sub'd Fabio Leopoldo who is great in BJJ.. 3 time pan american champ, 2 time brazillian champ, 7 years as a BJJ instructor.

Some people just fall into submissions. Look at Travis Lutter in the Anderson Silva fight....Anderson did nothing to set that up. He upkicked Lutter, and ended up in a triangle.

That said, I believe Rich takes this. Matt Lindland is a lot like Frank Shamrock to me in that he is always talking about how good he is, yet refuses to sign on to fight in big orgs against the top guys in his weight class to prove it. Rich could defend the takedown on a tired Lindland in later rounds, seeing as how Rich has phenomenal cardio, and at that point he would knock Lindland out if it even went that far. Lindland's chin seems a little suspect to me. Speaking of which:

How does Rich have a suspect jaw? He's been knocked out twice in 24 fights. One was to a straight front kick directly to the chin by Lyoto Machida, who is a great striker, and the other came after repeated knees to the face and body (I counted almost 30 of them) delivered by Anderson Silva, arguably the most pinpoint striker in the UFC, if not all of MMA. I just don't see how that constitutes having a suspect jaw. Rich takes shots just fine in my opinion.

I agree.

As i said before Rich might not have the best chin in mma but he does not have the worst. He has a Average chin with great recovery time.

Afro yes there is a difference between a ko and a sub but i have seen a few fights with matt where he just gets carryed away and leaves shit laying around. If your good at bjj it dont take much to pull of a armbar if you know what your doing or a choke.

I can say one thing in a 5 round fight if it got to the 4th round Richs chances go up greatly by every minute that goes by. Matt has good cardio but no where near Richs. But even in a 3rd fight i still take Rich.
