anderson silva always refers machida as mma's greatest fighter. we all saw what shogun did to him. how do you think a fight with anderson would go.

I don't think Silva can KO shogun, his TTD is not that great either.
Shogun via clinch and sub.

Good fight though.

This one is a hard one to judge. Anderson's MT looks a little more slick but Shogun's MT has is also some of the best in the game.

People may pick Shogun because of his effectiveness with Machida but then again people may pick Anderson because of the relative ease that he disposed off his opponents. The one thing we do have to remember though is that during Anderson's dominance in the UFC, he hasn't fought a great striker whereas Shogun has during his career (in Machida, Lil Nog, Rampage and Overeem) and showed that he could really negate the other fighter's striking.

That is not to say that Shogun will win but these are points we cannot overlook. I really have a hard time picking a winner. What sucks is that this fight was so close to being true. It could still happen if Shogun beats Machida in the rematch. I picked Shogun to win prior to the first Machida fight and I will pick him in the rematch... in the Anderson fight, it's going to be a much tougher pick.

I doubt this fight will ever happen regardless because Silva would be slapping his boy Machida in the face if he came in and easily disposed of Rua. Silva has stated awhile back that this lhw division belongs to Machida.

He may play in the waters a bit but I dont think he would ever chase the title or even fight a guy that beats Machida. Its just not a good look on a personal level the match however would definitely be entertaining.

I give it to A.Silva not only because of his striking but his elusiveness, speed and balance which is often overlooked.

I go with Shogun.

Shogun took some fucking hard ass blows from Machida and shook them off immediately. Those Machida knees weren't a joke at all!

I think the fight might happen before machida rematch, in 195 who knows, but for ed soares team it works perfectly. If those two champs think that they actually can beat fedor they have to first beat shogun, many people considered shogun and fedor the same, cause of their style in pride, so shogun getting more and more confident after his win of ice and his great performance vs dragon, we might be the witnesses of bear waking up after long freezin winter.
Shogun vs Silva, in my mind is 50:50, but cause shogun is no shy of going to ground, he might slightly be the favorite.
