If it is not such a feat why couldn't Randy do it? That fight was on the ground at times you know and with Randys 16 years at that time of Greco-Roman wrestling Training and Coaching you would think he could, IF Maurice sucked so bad. Maurice was a head case and he probabaly still is that is all there is to it. And it was only Smiths 4th fight in MMA my friend when he fought Bas however he had already won the WKC Light-Heavyweight World Champion (1983) and WKA World Kickboxing Heavyweight Champion (1983) by then.

Randy couldn't do it ,b/c it was only his 4th fight.He wasn't as skilled in subs as he is now.

Maurice was a good kickboxer and WKC this and WKA that ,but Smith was only a good kickboxer with good conditioning that's it.Bas beat a one deminsional striker by submission.

Thats right he was still however skilled in subs that is the point and 16yrs of skill at that, and still could not sub Maurice that is my point and Bas could and remember Bas before MMA was known as a kickboxer.

he wasn't skilled in subs he was skilled in wrestling and remember Couture before mma was known as a wrestler.
