Matt Hughes vs Anderson Silva

From matt-hughes.com: "I hope Rich wins, but if Anderson wins I would consider bumping up to 185 and fighting him."

So, if Silva wins, and Hughes is allowed to fight him before a Franklin rematch, and Hughes is true to his word... who would win?

I think (T)KO to Silva.

If Silva catches him ealry he could finish the fight ,b/c his striking is head and shoulders above Hughes.I could see Silva coming out aggressively and beating Hughes ,but what would most likely happen is Hughes would take him down and finish the fight.You never know though.

Isn't Silva a blackkbelt in BJJ? I mean, the dude is very long and lanky and Matt is short and stout. Combine the build advantage to Silva with a BJJ blackbelt and you have a recipe for disaster for Hughes....

Hughes will take the fight to the ground, as always and GnP his way to a victory. I think he's sumission savvy enough to avoid Silva's submissions.

I won't bet against hughes on this one. Not just yet...Lemme see how the Silva-Franklin fight ends first.

That would not be a smart fight for Hughes. He is not very good with strikers. Look at his fights with Penn...Penn rocked Hughes in both fights and Penn is not even close to the striker as Silva. Silva will knock him out in the first round. Hughes has a suspect chin.

Matt hughes doesn't have a prayer against Silva. Honestly, Silva will hold that belt for a LOOOONG time. The MW division just doesn't have anyone on par with Silva. If Matt steps up to MW, he will leave the ring early and disappointed....

First Matt has to worry about GSP in Nov. But if it did happen I'd give it to Hughes. Silva outclasse him in striking, and even though he is a BJJ blackbelt, most of his losses came by submission. Matt takes him down and pounds his way to a TKO victory.
