I think a lot of people--not you, but a lot of people--are basing opinions based on Alves outworking Karo on the ground and just standing up as an indication of his vast improvement. That might be the case, but I'd point out that Fitch is more likely to take down directly into a more dominant position than Karo's throws, and has a better submission game than Karo.
I like Alves, and I know his ground game has improved--I can only imagine what would happen to Fisher if he fought him again, but it wouldn't look pretty--but I'm not sure how much it's improved. If he can keep it standing, he outstrikes Fitch; obviously.
Without further indication of Thiago's ground game, I'd say Fitch's TD's and size controls him on the ground to another loss, but by decision this time.
