Machida has a way of making his opponents not look like themselves, so it would be interesting to see if he would have that same effect on Shogun.

Machida vs Shogun would be a classic fight for sure, but i really need to see Shogun get a dominating win under his belt before i can see him defeating Machida.

arona, overeem, rampage...need anymore...

also judging how machida vs shogun would go off there fights with nakamura is stupid...in that case...liddell and wandy both faught rampage...wandy koed him twice and liddell got koed twice...does that mean wandy would ko liddell??? no

id take shogun is this fight...shogun would be able to offer a great striking offense and set up his takedowns(unlike tito)and pound machida away...shogun has insane top game and insane transitions with good muay thai and vicious knees...

I think the only person that can beat Lyoto right now is Wand. He's the type that will not try to out strike Lyoto, but to just charge at him fists a blazing. And if he doesn't knock him out, he stands a decent chance of winning the decision.

Well Tito almost subbed Machida witha triangle so idk I would be taking Shogun by submission as soon as it hit the ground and on the feet I think Machida would be frustrated....or knocked out.... how quickly we forget how great Shogun is.

You seem to forget how great that escape was. Tito has been training BJJ for years now and I'm sure is really good at it. IMO Lyoto's ground defense is good enough to keep from being subbed by everybody unless he makes a huge mistake.

Shogun gased out when he fought Forrest. I will have to give the fight to Machida.

very hard to say, the Shogun of old would probably walk right through Machida, but lke he has proven, he is no slouch........
I would have to say Machida just based on his streek of proving people wrong and Shoguns last proformance(Dispite him being ingured, Im just a Machida fan)
But i voted for shogun

I picked Machida, I would see this being a close fight initially probably going the distance, and I think Machida would win the later rounds and start to take over. I see Shogun getting frustrated by Machida.

I don't see Machida getting caught by Shogun on the feet or on the ground.
