Default Wandy Vs. Matt Hughes @ MW

There are talks of Wandy moving down and Hughes moving up.

I'd love to see this fight as the first fight for each guy at 185.

That shit would be absolutely crazy, and would be a must see for the hard core fans.

I think Wandy takes the fight if he can make the cut healthy.

I don't think there is any question that Hughes would be a force at 85, he could gain the weight while still staying fit and probably be even stronger than he ever was.

I think the determining factor would be how Wandy cuts the weight and how much of his power and quickness he could retain while doing so.

Thoughts?

Hughes can't strike at 170, and he won't be able to strike at 185. Not a good fight imo. EIther Wandy KO's him in 12 seconds or Hughes takes him down and dry humps him for 15 minutes.

Normally I'd say Wandy easily, but Liddell took him down almost at will on a couple of occasions last week, so Silva's wrestling leaves a lot to be desired methinks.

If Wand can improve his takedown d, he could certainly KO Matt.

Agreed.

Silva by quick, brutal KO....

Or....

Hughes by UD dry-humping.

I'd be betting on Wandy, but pulling for Hughes.

Hughes can't handle the shots in WW where he's only faced 1 decent striker in the last 4 years.

Wand could likely KO Hughes from his back.

Yea, seriously. Hughes would get mangled. For the record, I think it's a horrible idea for HUGHES to move up. If anything, he should look to move down. But come on - Against Wanderlai?

Wanderlai by Shinkuu Hadouken fireball...

Here is how I see the fight happening

Hughes will get Wandy down.. maybe twice...

Wandy has nothing to worry about with Hughes's stand up.. he is going to start predicting the takedowns..

Wandy ends it with an uppercut or knee.

True, but half the reason it was so easy for chuck to take him down was because nobody including wanderlei on planet earth expected it. If they fought he'd be looking for hughes going for the takedown the whole fight, which in my opinion is why hughes is going to have problems from here on out, you know exactly what hes going to try and do and that is a huge advantage for wandy
