Mike Swick vs GSP @ 170lbs

I think Mike would be a very tough fight for GSP and could possibly catch him in the swickotine. I think it would be a great fight and one we'll probably see one day, I'd have to take Swick!

i think gsp is too good ans strong on the ground to get subbed and would prepare for the swickotine. and i think he would dominate the fight using controlled gnp

Woah I don't think that it is even close GSP dominates him and TKO's him in the 2nd

Wow, this thread truly represents how flawed the rep system is, when I saw the tittle I expected some noob to have posted it, but I was wrong. Threads and posters like you are the reason why the forums are so different (and kinda dead) now.

I think Swick is more talented on the ground, but as we have seen he struggles with stronger opponents and GSP is much stronger (imo). I think GSP wins a decision or TKO in the third.

i think he gets beaten up and worked over by GSP from the top because he's too smart to not take advantage of his advantage in the wrestling part of the game

but if GSP stands up with him, i think Swick could outbox him and lay him out, because while i think Swick's standup is a little overrated, he has the handspeed and boxing to beat the hell out of GSP when he comes in for one of his short combinations, and i think he has more KO power than most guys GSP has fought.
Swick also has some solid ground game, but i think GSP could outwork him and beat him there

twanky-i could see swick pulling this one off, but honestly...me thinks that gsp may be too strong for swick..like someone else already said, i could see gsp taking swick down and holding him there with the occasional gnp ala the koscheck fight..i am not counting swick out though..i think this could be an epic fight and swick definitely has a shot at winning

Toss up.

MMA math being what it is, I think if Swick had let his hands go against Okami, he could have beaten him...so I'm not buying the "GSP" is too big and strong argument.

Standing, I have Swick with a KO in the first. His standup [striking/accuracy/handspeed/defense] is far better than GSP, and he's got great reach advantage.

On the ground, if GSP can avoid the subs, I'd say he'll ride out a decision, as he did with Kos.

I think this is a probable fight in the next 18 months.

But the only person i have seen him struggle against was Okami, an Okami is a very strong mw imo.

But people have to remember Swick had dangerous hands at mw and they are not some how going to just go away.

I think at ww Swick's hands will be faster and pack more power with his punch and imo can knock anyone at ww out. Also he has a decent ground game.

But i will agree with Palma right now about struggling with stronger opponents . Until i see Swick at ww an what he is like i will say GSP out muscles him for a ud.

BUT lol if GSP wants to stand with Swick he is going to go to sleep. I just think Mikes hands are to fast an to powerful for GSP to handle. I am not at all saying GSP has a weak chin, Mike just throws good combos an has good power an can hurt GSP.

Right now GSP UD but that could change when i see the Burkman Swick fight.

This is a dream match section an to Twanky maybe this is a dream match for him so back off.

So now Swick is just some kind of bum the guy was cracking the top 10 at mw until losing to okami. Swick was a small mw too.

But i forgot GSP is unbeatable an has a iron chin and amazing striking, striking d, wrestling, ground game.

Didn't GSP get knocked out or tko'ed by Serra. Serra is a lw an does not have the speed or reach that Swick has. So to say Swick can't beat GSP is stupid and for you to say that is just stupid. I won't neg you because normally your a great poster and maybe just a Scrooge around X-mas.
