Silva by sub round 1. GSP's game plan would be to take down Silva and sub him. GSP gets Silva down and tries to pound him out, but gets caught. Keep in mind Silva is a BJJ blackbelt.

At 185 I think Silva will take it but at 170 GSP should win.

Why? I don't mean to be obnoxious, but I really don't understand this statement.

Yah, that does not make much sense, if Silva dropped weight he would still be around 180 by fight time, so the weight class at that close would have no affect on Silva, GSP would still be out weighed.

I definetly think GSP is a good match up, they are both very well known for how well rounded there games are, but I disagree I think GSP would want to show off, especially once he gets the title back, if this was before he has the title he would probably try to take it to the ground being more cautious, then he would get caught in the second round in a triangle. But I think if he has all his confidence he would make the mistake and try to stand up with Silva to prove he can outstrike the striker, it is just how GSP fights, which isn't always the smartest but I love to watch him fight for that reason he will leave it in the cage. I think it would be a great fight and probably wouldn't really care who ends up winning they are both great fighters and good role models for the sport.

Anderson by knockout, most likely second round because GSP will take him down lay on top of him, and it will take Anderson prob the most of the first round to figure GSP out then second round GSP goes to sleep.

i love how every one discredits gsp's stand up like its nothing...gsp is a graet striker with great defense and amazing inside leg kicks which is wat ryo chonnan used to beat silva...and gsp's inside low kicks are way better the ryo's...id say gsp uses his quickness and agility to use his low kicks and eat away at silva's legs all the while using his great jab to measure distance like ryo did...then he takes him down and pounds him out...id say gsp by decision...maybe tko if he catches him with a good shot...

if ryo "the shark" chonan can eat away silva's legs with low kicks then gsp can for sure...and ryo used his jab and ate away at silvas face with it...and gsp has a great jab...all in all i think its a great fight that has the potential to go either way but gsp has great gameplans and if he uses his jab and low kicks well and takes him down i see a long night for a. silva....

It's not that it's nothing, it's that his striking has become completely over rated and is certainly a mismatch against Silva's standup.

I'm going with Silva via brutal first round KO...

GSP via TKO... I think GSP is better than Silva.. plain and simple. Silva has great knees, good striking (his knees make his striking, not his kicks or punches (not that those are awful by any means)), and BJJ black belt or not, good (not great) BJJ.

GSP comes in with great game plans and studies his opponent. GSP is good at finding his range and I think if Silva tried to clinch GSP Silva would end up on his back with GSP working his magic.

I am not saying GSP is so far above Silva, but I think he is a much smarter fighter. I also think Silva will come in cocky and GSP will come in ready and focused. GSP by TKO in the 2nd.

I am probably going to get slammed for my opinion, but it is my opinion. The truth is, everyone considers Anderson Silva to be the new Fedor (simply because he beat Franklin for the second time, in a less devestating fashion no less). Anderson is the king of the smallest division in MMA. I am not trying to discredit him. He is an AMAZING fighter.. but it doesn't change the fact that he rules over the least stacked division in MMA.

maybe he is a top ten P4P.. but is he #1? No.

He says his regular weight is 213.5 so there is no way in hell he makes 170 with out actually losing real muscle.
