I'd like to make an off topic note.. In the 1060+ threads in the Dream Matches section.. this is the 2nd thread to reach 100+ posts (in fact, it has the most.. The other being Kickboxers vs. Boxers (119) and the closest to 100 being Cro Cop vs. Bisping (98)).

Additionally, this thread has been done before, and some of you had much different opinions back then...

hughes subbed gsp ages ago, and from top postion...you as well as i know that anderson silva is very unlikely to subb gsp from his gaurd...bj penn has the most amazing gaurd around and is a better black belt then silva and bj rarely had gsp in any kind of trouble...im not saying anderson subbing gsp in impossible but imo its highly unlikely...

but imo it is very likely that gsp could take down anderson and conrtoll him and pull out a ud...he did it to bj, and bj is alot better wrestler and bjj prac then silva...gsp is not dumb and has very good strike defense,enough to be able to get the takedown...and im sorry but anderson has very little take down d...

You're implying that GSP has improved, no argument there, but you also have to consider that the competition is improving as well. Hughes most likely has improved, A. Silva has improved, so on and so forth.

BJ also is a smaller fighter then GSP, A. Silva certainly is not. BJ Penn is one of the best pound for pound fighters, but at the same time size does matter. Penn isn't very big compared to GSP, not even close, he doesn't have reach, height, or weight to his advantage, A. Silva would have all of those advantages over GSP.

A. Silva isn't dumb either, and has very good strikes, strikes that are unlike anything that GSP has been against, and I don't need to remind you about his last fight title defense do I? A. Silva is on a tear right now ending all of his fights so far in the UFC and at MW. GSP hasn't been as impressive, he got KO'd by Serra, a guy much smaller and someone who isn't exactly the best striker, and then he pulled out a decision against KOS.

I agree with you. You have to remember GSP is considered bigger at WW than silva is at MW. So if gsp moved up silva wouldnt have that much of an advantage in the size category imo. and i just think that if you throw in gsp's good wrestling against silva's poor takedown D that gsp would be able to control silva and get the UD. and yeah gsp has little head movemet but he is extremely quick and athletic and possesses a great jab

and i really hope henderson vs silva happens because if it does silva gets smashed imo and all of this #1 pound for pound shit goes to sleep.

Dude were coo but, the whole "If BJ didnt do this, then this person cant" is dumb logic.. so what if BJ is a better BJJ prac then Anderson? Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu is Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu it is not narrowed down to just submissions.. you are making it seem like what a lot of rookies make it out to be.. a sport with no versitility when it comes to style, and you should know that its a very versitile sport. You cant compare two different fights between different fighters at different weight classes period! and so what if Hughes sub'd him years ago, and your point is that fighters cant improve? so what your saying is BJ Penn or Anderson Silva wont improve?

Matt Hughes sub'd GSP in 2004, BJ Penn didnt sub him in 2006.. were 1 month away from 2008 so theres a 2 year span in between all these matchups so even your rebuttle has flaws.

and as far as silva subbing gsp i definatley don't see him doing it from guard and the only time silva would be onh top of gsp is if gsp had just been rocked
