Default Tyson Griffin vs Gilbert Melendez

Ok this is a good match up.

I think Tyson takes this by ud.

I think he wins because he is pretty fast, imo stronger, better wrestler, good enough striking and good sub d. I think he can just take him down and lay on him with punches an elbows here an their.

Edgar vs Gilbert.

Edgar i think takes this for the reasons i listed about Tyson but i think he is better then Tyson at them.

Guida vs Gilbert 2.

I think Guida put up a really good fight the first time, and has gotten better since they fought. Even though it was only a year ago i think Guida has gotten good enough to beat him in a rematch.

Melendez hasn't had a fight in a long time. He's great and underrated for sure, but i dont see him defeating Tyson. Probably Tyson via Decision. As for Guida and Edgar, it should be a really close fight. I dont see anyone getting knocked out or submitted.

Thumbs up

I'd like to see Tyson Griffin vs. Roger Huerta or Frankie Edgar vs. Huerta or
Takanori Gomi against any of them.

I think Melendez would beat them both up on the feet, he is harder to take down then you think. Even if it hits the ground he still has great BJJ and should be able to beat them there too. I dont see how tyson or clay is bigger/stronger either, last I checked they are all small lightweights

and Melendez vs Edgar would be interesting, I think it would be very close and would probably look like Gilberts fight with Kawajirri

Clay came pretty close in their first fight, it wasnt one sided or anything. I think Clay has gotten better since then and think he could beat him in a rematch.

I don't think Tyson would beat him on the feet, but i think he would take him down and keeping him their, i dont see him getting subbed either.

Tyson is just a short bulky lw who is relentless an will keep coming.

Edgar is just a better version of Tyson.

I also forgot to add Joe Daddy to the list.

I think Joe could beat him as well.

Sometimes i just think people just underestimate guys like Tyson, Edgar, Clay, and Daddy because their in the ufc and havent fought top 5 guys or many or if at all top 10 guys. Just because they havent fought them does not make them any worse.

I mean take a look at Diaz, he wasnt even close to the top of the food chain in ufc and went on to beat the number 1 lh.

To me its the same thing is people thinking pride fighters were more elite then ufc fighters.

until they fight people are just going to be like oh well Melendez is so great an those fighters can't beat him an well those guys can beat him. They need to fight

Joe Daddy has fought Top guys, and lost to them.. hes very good.. and a Top 10 LW IMO

Tyson has fought top guys too, hes beaten Faber but hes been unimpressive in the UFC so far

Guida has beaten a Top opponent, hes very good as well but I think he is where he belongs, right outside the Top 10 cuz thats who he is competing with right now.. winning fights against and losing fights against. Hes still very tough

And Edgar is on the rise, no one knows how good he is yet.. he could very well be Top 5.

I think Melendez beats Griffin and Guida, but Edgar is a mystery.. right now Melendez takes it though off of experience.

Melendez has better striking and BJJ then Griffin and Guida, Guida has better wrestling, Griffin is stronger.. but Melendez is a pretty good wrestler too and can keep the fight on the feet where he would have the edge. Guida is hard to submit though but has been submitted. Melendez just has more finishing power then both, and hes not one of those well-rounded fighters who have no idea how to balance themselves out.. he can balance himself out and I think he beats both Guida and Griffin on the feet.

I see what your saying about Joe but since his move to lw he has been very impressive. His worst loss was to Pulver 8 years ago when he was 17. I mean Joe is only 25 and is greatly improving with every fight. With him fighting Penn soon i don't expect him to win but i think it will be a very good fight. Since his loss to Neer he dropped down to lw and has been imo a beast, better then ever. i think Joe is a really fast strong lw with good well rounded skills. I think he would be in Melendez's face the hole fight an think he could pull out a dec.

In no way to i think Melendez is a bad fighter because i think he is very good. I also think Tyson is a very good fighter along with Edgar an Guida.

Tyson is with imo one of the best camps in the world, training with Randy. If i am not mistaken he has not been with Randy that long. I think it was right before his Edgar fight, he hasnt been training with Randy for even a year, well maybe a year. So as time goes on training their Tyson will get much better and at the age of 23 i see very bright things for him.

Tyson just reminds me so much of a bulldog, small compact but have that never die attitude. I disagree with you that he hasnt been impressive. Yes he lost to Edgar but Edgar is a beast himself. I really do think he beat Guida in their fight, well kinda was leaning towards a draw but anyway. I think Tyson is strong enough an good enough to beat Melendez, also with Randy the master planner he would no what he is suppose to do. In no way to i think he would crush or run threw him but i think he could keep him on the ground without getting subbed. I would say this fight would prob go to a split for Tyson.

Guida in the first fight did very good and since he has gotten better. So i just think he could beat him in a rematch.

Edgar reminds me of Tyson but just better at some things. I think the fight would go alot like the fight i said tyson an melendez would be just not as close.

To be honest i think the brightest Future is probably going to go to Tyson, i know i am biased for him but only because of Randy. With him being 23 he is only going to improve on all areas of his game, he don't have a bjj coach like Melendez but he has Karo Randy Bas Forrest Rampage Juainto, i know he dont train with them all the time but he is always surrounded by great fighters. I don't know who his bjj coach is but with Bonnar at Randys that is a good bjj black belt. He is a black belt under the same people as Diaz and Shields.

But after all this long ramble, these fights i wouldnt be will to bet money on because Melendez is a very good fighter, an so are the rest. When you put those kind of fighters in a cage together anything can happen.

Honestly, I'd rather see Tyson Griffin fight Gilbert Godfrey. But Melendez would make for a good fight too.
