BJ Penn vs Anderson Silva
May not seem like dream match for some but I am making this in response to another thread with some seeing Penn going over Anderson Silva. Love to hear input on this....

It'd be a dream match for me. Wow, I love Penn but I also love Silva. It's hard to pick between peanut butter and chocolate. I can see both winning, Silva maybe more so if he can utilize his jab and keep BJ away from him. He does take risks tho and I can see BJ wrap himself around Silva when the moment presents itself.
If I had to bet money I'd say Silva by TKO in the second.

thx for putting this up, i agree that silva would beat penn, bj has a very slim chance. he'd get ko'ed. however there is always a case when a fighter excells so much at one part of mma such as bj's bjj, but beating a top dog at 2 weightclasses above is different.

its not like silva is a fish out of water on the ground eaither. but not saying that he is close to penn, but probably would be able to weather the bjj storm.

Oh yeah and dont get me wrong either. I can see Penn with a chance but not a huge chance, he'd for sure be the underdog. We have Penn having a hard enough time defeating the top tier of WW's but now he is supposedly supposed to go over the UFC MW champion?? I'm sticking with Silva on this match up.

How can you say Penn has a hard enough time beating top teir WWs? He lost to two WW fighters and he was kicking the shit out of both of them. Penn looked much better then Hughes and GSP in both of those losses.

Simply because he did in fact lose regardless of how it was. GSP, Hughes and even Diego, Serra and Kos could all give Penn trouble. Then you can even look at the LW division and Sherk would give Penn trouble too but I'd pick Penn over Sherk. Anyways my whole point is that he already has his hands full as is and is a lilttle drastic jumping ahead saying Penn would take Anderson Silva. Sure we arent going to change eachothers minds though lol

I'd imagine it'd be hard for BJ to move so high up in weight, they were saying he really didn't have to cut that much weight against Pulver, so going up almost 30 pounds I think would tip the scales in anderson's direction.
