Brandon "The Truth" Vera vs Maricio "Shogun" Rua
with the possibility of brandon vera moving down to 205 or shogun moving up to heavyweight, this is a possible dream match of the future. both have excellent striking, submissions, clinch game, and i dont know a hole lot about shoguns wrestling, but i know vera has great wrestling as well. so we have 2 of the most well rounded fighters in mma, which fighter do you believe would win.

I think Shogun would overwhelm Vera and score a first round tko.

i think stylistically this would be an AWESOME match up and it wouldnt last long..i'd give the bjj edge to shogun, but vera has good wrestling and good bjj as well...i'd love to see them stand and bang it out, though...

Shogun has the edge in striking, but i give kicks/knees and power to Vera.

I agree, I think Vera's power wins this one for him. He's just as good on his feet as Shogun and can hold his own on the ground. I think it would be an awesome fight and very close. Vera wins 7 out of 10 times.

wat makes everyone think vera is so good??? putting his striking on shoguns level when vera hasnt even beat a decent striker is ridiculous!!! vera has faced b-level comp and thats y he looks good, please im not trying to say vera isnt good at all but lets see him face someone with decent striking before we start saying he has better knees and stand up than shogun rua...its just ridiculous....
shogun runs a clinic on vera showing him the finer points of muay thai striking...
