Definitely met a few of those guys at the gym, and don't like most of them. I couldn't really put a finger on what I would be though

I really wasnt' watching porn, but I still didn't make it through the entire list, although I'm sure I will at some point.lol


I'm the guy who has been there for a little over 3 months or so that is just now getting to where he can hold his own. I don't get tap'd to side controll anymore.lol And actually have tapped a few of the blue belts, basicly because I think they were trying to put themselves in a bad position and work out of it, but I didn't let them.lol

Well that is how you get better, but starting or letting yourself get put into a position where you are bad at.


I had one kid want to roll with me AFTER I just got done with four three minute rounds with 1 min rest inbetween... He didnt do anything. I think he wanted to "win" and thought I would be more tired than I was (I was dead tired actually). Ahh the motivation of not wanting his plan to work! I spent most the time on my back, blocking submissions and right as I tightened up my guard, swung my upper body a littlebit and reached aroudn his back to grab his far side lat the 30 seconds left bell went off... Managed to swing around and get his back, flatten out and was just about to sink the RNC in when it was through... Damn guy trying to take advantage of a tired me! What a bastard!

LOL, this list is hilarious!!

One of my best friends is the backfromgym guy/holder/farting machine. He's immensely strong and likes to try to pin me until I run out of gas. he has about 60lbs on me so getting pinned by him sucks

There's a pretty damn good purple belt at my gym who is the pretzel/latecomer. Shows up at the end of class just to roll, and has superhuman flexibility. His guard is EXTREMELY hard to pass

I could go on and on and on, I know almost all these guys!!

as for me, I'm probably some combination of the pretzel and the risk taker. occasionally I'll be the all knees and elbows guy. against some opponents I sometimes feel like the mailman, which kinda sucks and is something I'm working on

Wow, that is quite a list.. I am occassionally some of these things..

I wouldn't say I am constantly any of them.

99.99% of grapplers have to fall under a few of these once in a while.

Its a very large read, but I'm sure I can find myself in a lot of those.

Normally I try to go at a very hard pace. From dirtbiking, your trying to go 100% all the time, so I try to use the same thing with grappling. I don't crank peoples arms or anything, but I don't like staying in the same place, I love staying active and not resting for a split second. I get really bored of anyone laying on top of me, so I gotta try hard to get them moving

I also love trying out the technique I might have learned that they to make sure its in my game.
