I've also found spider gaurd works well against guys with long ass limbs.

5'7.5"???
Bahhhahha
How old are you? Twelve and three quarters?
Does that half inch make you feel less like a midget?

Do not bring your drama in here. I don't care what was said in the Politics forum, don't carry it over into here.
If you're not here to talk grappling, go somewhere else.

Thanks fellas....roll when amazing today....absolutely everything I tried worked....
and I started it off with a bit of humor...
first try at breaking guard.....I choose the pin biceps stand up knee in middle...sit back down.....presto knee is in perfectly....
this is where I hurt my training partner.......
weight forward...knee smashing his junk.....OWWOHHWHHHWHH....partner in pain rolling on floor.......me laughing....it worked!! it worked!!!
so needless to say...I didnt attempt that one again....but it worked.....
next came the marcelo behind the back try.......absolutely beautiful!!!...works perfectly....partner dropped like a sack of wet noodles...and I took his back immediately.... yippe Im getting to get the hang of this....lol
as for the body triangle....i found three things that worked and I felt comfertable doing...
first
twisting back and pushing down on his ankle sort of calf crusherish.....followed by extreme pained look on partner.....nice...
second..and my favorite...
I posted my elbow by my opponents neck on the mat...and quickly ran to the side opposite of the elbow planted (I know its not typically a position you want to be in) but when done quickly it turns him into a little ball...spine stretching......owwwwww....he lets go..........very effective
and lastly...
a canopener......now I dont ever like to do these...I see it as kind of a talentless dick move (no offense to the can opener gurus if there are some out there....lol) and its easy an armbar waiting to happen.....but I did it quick....knowing the armbar was coming.....first sign of legs opening...and I mean FIRST sign......and I rip my arms out of danger straight to double underhooks......ahhhhhh...safety....
so thanks for the info that I was given.....hope this will help others with similar problems also!!....
Go for the Marcelo pass..........its gorgeous....

Rubbing your elbows inside the leg just above the knee opens it up unless the guy has worked them hard. It's a pressure point and damn effective to open up a guard so it should work on a body triangle.

i always use a standing gaurd pass against a body triangle...just make sure you control an arm so he cant grab ur ankles or attempt a sweep...

its completely basic and I honestly never do it but have you tried a simple can opener??
there are much more graceful ways to open somebody's guard up but since nobody mentioned it yet I thought I'd throw it out there...

Yeah can opener is OK.....just too easy to get armbarred when rolling against anyone with 5 months+ experience.....If I do attempt it.....it is a VERY last resort and I only do it for like 2 seconds or less....
