if Rampage wins, then Chuck doesnt deserve a rematch. just like Tito doesnt deserve a third shot at Chuck.

The recovery time for a community acquired pneumonia generally depends upon the cause of the pneumonia and the severity of the infection.

In general, most people begin to feel better within 7 to 10 days; complete resolution can take 4-8 weeks. Given the level of your exercise regimen, you should gradually build yourself back up to your previous level of exercise over 4-6 weeks.

If Chuck rushed back into training too fast, he could have hurt his overall conditioning. Of course, great athletes can probably return at an earlier rate but they are still going to be weak. This could have a major impact on Chuck.

Does anyone know when he was first diagnosed?

I disagree. Chuck-Rampage 1 was a non-title fight which took place in Pride GP and not UFC.

And it happened 3.5 years ago, which is over a year longer than the time between Tito's two shots.

That's like saying that if two fighters fought in the WEC or KOTC, then 3 years later they contested a title shot in UFC or Pride and the same guy won, the other guy was completely frozen out of a title shot. Ridiculous.

Chuck, like Matt Hughes, is a guy who, by dint of his record, his legacy and his accomplishments, will deserve another shot at the title should he lose.

They could give him an immediate rematch or have him fight another fight first...whomever he fights (maybe Jardine), he would destroy and then get another shot at the title.

This is all speculative, though....he has to be dethroned first

You cant give Chuck another fight regardless of what hes accomplished if he loses, especially if he gets dominated again

Who cares if it was done in Pride 3.5 years ago? it was still an MMA Sancioned fight its not like they went over to Boxing or K-1 and fought there, MMA is MMA.. and logically you just cant give Chuck another fight

if Chuck loses this fight, and wins the 3rd.. what sense would that make? so Rampage beats him twice, and Chuck has one win over him? and for the love of god we better hope it doesnt stretch out to 4, 5 fights.. if Rampage wins this time, it should be the last of it.

I just don't agree. I hear what you're saying, but that was an entirely different organization, years ago, and with no title on the line.

What's contested here and now is the UFC LHW belt.

Right now Chuck is the champ and has had several very impressive title defenses. If Rampage beats him, that'll be the first time Rampage will have beaten him in the UFC. Chuck will have earned another shot.

Now I agree with you - if Chuck loses the second fight, then while he will deserve another shot at the title, even if he wins that third fight, it doesn't "matter" in terms of the history between the two fighters. Rampage will have "won" that battle 2-1.

But, what's contested here and now isn't the personal record between them; it's the LHW belt. If Chuck loses that, to anyone (not just Rampage) he should get another shot at it. IMO.

Ya but if your Rampage, your not gonna want Chuck to have the more recent win over you and the damn belt how does that make him look?

I agree, it's a strange situation.

But be realistic...let's say Chuck was 5 years younger (i.e. has more than just a couple fights left in him)....Rampage beats him this second fight and is the champ...Chuck proceeds to mow down whomever the UFC puts in his way...I don't care who it is, he just mows them down (like he has been for years)....you're seriously going to say he never gets another shot at the title?

I just can't take that hard a line.

He should get another shot, maybe after an intervening victory, because of how long he held the title and the performances he had while holding it. He was the anti-Tim Sylvia - he didn't hold the belt high over his head and play keepaway for 5 rounds in his title defenses. He knocked people the fuck out over and over, defense after defense.

Should he lose, he deserves another shot.

Well if thats the case then ya, I Agree that if Chuck loses and earns a title shot he should get it, but an immediate or undeserving title shot wont fly with me.

I mean if hes the obvious choice for the title shot, you gotta give it to him.

I'm okay with him getting another shot if chuck loses BUT they better stretch it out and not have it right away... for god sake.
