I think UFC is very similar to the WWE in its production content and promotion. In fact, I'd say they used the WWE as a businss model for expansion.

Again, I'm new to Pride, but they seem like they allowed some fluff but had more solid content, without the crowd going wild at ringside.

Listening to Goldberg is just like listening to Jim Ross on RAW or Michael Cole on Smackdown. Rogan is the Lawler of the group.

I'd reverse what you said.........Listening to goldberg is like listening to lawler and listening to rogan is like listening to jim ross cuz jim ross does the Play By Play, and thats basicly what rogan does

I take offence to that because the fans in england did the same shit. They booed probably more then the american fans. Well maybe not more but close to it.

UFC is more concentrated on the fights and raw MMA.

Pride has always seemed like WWE to me:
1) It is flashy, more of a show.
2) It has loud screaming announcers
3) Fireworks and Big screens
4) Crazy staredowns.
5) Freakshow fights for no reason.

Pride is like watching an Opera or something, UFC is like watching Boxing in a gym.

But honestly I love the Pride Production and I love the Raw UFC Production. Hope they stay like they are.

Why and the hell would you say this?

I love Pride & UFC, but I like the metal music and dark setting of UFC more than the bright lights and fireworks of Pride.

its just that, adding to the show, it appeals to the fans and gives them something to watch between fights, rather than the back some guy's head in the beer line-up (btw i'd be in the beer line too)

Thus making it a "show" like WWE. Pride is definitely the more polished live show. UFC is more raw fight content.

I wasn't saying anything bad about Pride, I love watching Pride. I just think Pride is closer to WWE than UFC is. UFC is far far away from WWE, purposely.

Pride tends to use training clips and shit in their pre-fight videos, where UFC uses interviews and fighters talking shit about eachother, it is the culture difference that is making it seem like a "show" rather than an event, which is what it really is

Now, I would have to check the recent events, but I'm pretty sure Pride usually has 2 or more fights than the UFC, so the "more content" part is very debatable

I know you weren't trying to say anything bad about Pride, and I don't want to come off as a Pride nuthugger, but I think that Pride is much furthur from WWE than UFC, whether it be the interviews and shit alone (not to mention sponsoring)

The Japanese like this type of show, i mean the K1 events are even more over the top than the Pride shows, with huge fire/laser effects and the music etc, i dont believe they are trying to make them look like pro wrestling entrances, i just think it is the standard in production in Japan right now and anything less, makes the people feel like the event isnt as important or entertaining.
You have to realise combat sports are far more popular in Japan than they are in the U.S, and this means women and children in far greater numbers than in America and they too are going to want to be entertained and they have come to enjoy the entrances etc
Between Pride and K1's new years eve show last year, 1/3 of everyone watching tv in Japan that night were watching combat sport of one type or another, something which i highly doubt will ever happen in America, and the entrances and entertaing production have a lot to do with attracting an audience that varied rather than just the young male demographic which is targeted in the States, and i cant see how thats a bad thing,
I enjoy the entrances, and the fights are just as entertaining as the UFC (which is what matters) so long live the high production value in Pride, cause once its gone you can be pretty sure the interest from the casual Japanese fans has gone too, and i'm sure K1 heros will be more than happy to put on a show and become the number 1 watched Japanese company
