Because he's a self-righteous prick, who has the worst fanbase known to man. Well, maybe not the worst, BJ Penn has some annoyingly pretentious fans, but at least BJ didn't fight a bunch of scrubs in K-1 under rules that benefited him.

How does he have the worst fan base known to man? Explain?
And what makes you say he's self rightous?

I think I like him because he uses a new style that is somewhat fresh in today's standards for MMA. I didn't become a fan of him because of his K-1 fights, I've only seen his fights from Strikeforce, and he looked pretty impressive.

Same here, I'm generally a fan of anyone who comes into MMA and shows they can use their orthodox martial arts skills to dominate their opponents.

I agree, although I've seen some of his K1 fights and he's more impressive. If you see the way he slams the hell out of people out of no where, you can tell he would do well as soon as his JuJitsu is good enough.

Because they actually think he can beat anyone, when he hasn't beaten anyone worth a damn yet. They think he's good in all areas, when he hasn't done anything to warrant any such thinking.
Here's an example...
Cung fan: Cung Le's fighting Jason Von Flue! He's going to destroy the guy! Cung Le is the future! Rinse and repeat.
I mean, yeah, he should beat a choad like Von Flue, but what the hell does that have anything to do with his future success in MMA? Fryklund's a step above Von Flue, but he hasn't been worth anything in a while now.
I think he's self-righteous because he took fights he knew he could win, and tried to pass them off as great accomplishments.

You sound exactly the way I described PBF before yesterday.

I don't know if this is the case with Cung Le, but most fighters don't choose who they fight. They have managers and promoters who pick the fights for them. Le just fought who the promotions suggested him to fight. He only has 3 MMA fights and in all honesty, you wouldn't throw ANYONE in with top guys when they're first trying to transition into MMA. Considering the difficulty of making that switch over into MMA from any one specific martial art a certain fighter might excel at, Cung Le's discipline being San Shou, I'd say he's jumped that hurdle quite handily thus far.

I think it's a little too early to tell. Until he actually face's someone who's good in most areas, then his fans should shut up about how great he is, and how he'd beat anyone.

Yea, but it was Von Flue (Who is horrible).
