He did run from Werdum, The entire fight. By the way you delivered your post you seem unsre of yourself... "he didn't run from Werdum and he damn sure didn't run from Cruz". You say it with conviction when regarding the Cruz fight but just say "he didn't run from Werdum", sorry, but yeah... he did. He looked like Cote in the Smith vs Cote fight.
Do you not remember the Vitor vs Wanderlei Silva flashback where Werdum hit AA and AA ran the entire width of the Octagon as Werdum continued to blast at him?
AA did this the whole fight, it was a much closer fight than Rogan was trying to convince everyone of. Scoring on a 10 point must system Werdum won round 1 by landing more strikes, round 2 was AA and round 3 could've gone either way. UFC judges are not supposed to judge on damage and that's exactly what they did, as well as bias.
It's as simple as this, the only time there was action in the fight was when Werdum engauged, otherwise they were just standing still ala Sylvia vs AA II and when Werdum did press the action AA would back pedal and retreat. There is a huge difference in moving out of the pocket like Cro Cop and Machida do so well. Letting their opponents punches miss them by inches because they are wizards at judging range on punches but AA dodging punches by feet and not inches is just ridiculous and considered running IMO.
AA's unwillingness to attack someone has proven to be a tiresome act, hence the booing crowd, and it will continue if he continues fighting like he has been.
Chuck is known as a counter puncher as well but he also attacks and throws combos together, AA throws a 1-2 combo but only as a counter and in his last 3 fights, an inside leg kick is the only offensive move he has mounted while on the attack and standing, that's it. Very exciting.
