As much as I would like 2 see this fight happen, i doubt it ever will due 2 Mayweather, etc. and the boxing promoters being frightened and/or 2 greedy, plain and simple. But if it ever (somehow) did, then what would be more interesting and fair would be if the MMA and boxing world put its best fighters at each weight-class (or a catch-weight) so the world could see why being a 'fighter;, as opposed 2 a 'boxer', takes much more skill and a larger variation of styles...
It will probably never happen, but imagine:
Heavyweight (205lbs+)
Fedor Emelianenko (Pride Champion) vs. Wladimir Klitschko (IBF)
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira v. Shannon Briggs (WBO Champion)
Light-Heavyweight (205lbs)
Chuck Liddell (UFC LHW Champion) vs. Jean-Marc Mormeck (WBC/WBA/The Ring CW Champion)
Mauricio Rua/Wanderlei Silva vs. Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (IBF CW Champion)
Middleweight (185 lbs)
Dan Henderson (Pride Champion) vs. Bernard Hopkins (The Ring LHW Champion)
Matt Lindland vs. Clinton Woods (IBF LHW Champion)
Welterweight (170lbs)
Georges St. Pierre vs. Joe Calzaghe (WBO/The Ring SMW Champion)
Matt Hughes vs. Jermain Taylor (WBC/WBO/The Ring SMW Champion)
Lightweight (155lbs)
BJ Penn vs. Oscar de la Hoya (WBC SWW Champion)
Sean Sherk (UFC WW Champion) vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
This would break all PPV records in history... and finally solidify MMA's acceptance amongst the mainstream... IF ONLY...
