UFC 70 Fighter Pay-outs - Fighter Pay Going UP
The numbers are from Dave Meltzer.....
These are the correct payouts for the event. Fighter pay is going up. 8 Fighters made $40,000 or more. Sinosic made just south of that. If you fight 3 times a year with those purses, that is a fantastic living. The myth that the UFC is pay is bad is gone. The top fighters are being well compensated. Werdum went on recod to say he is being paid double compared to what he was in Pride.
TOTAL PAYOUT: $933,000
Gabriel Gonzaga - $60,000 (Win) - Did not mention if this includes KO of the night or not.
Mirko Filipovic - $350,000 (Loss)
Andrei Arlovski - $160,000 (Win)
Fabricio Werdum - $80,000 (Loss)
Michael Bisping - $54,000 (Win) - $24,000 for win and $30,000 for best match bonus.
Elvis Sinosic - $38,000 (Loss) - $38,000 for win and $30,000 for best match bonus.
Lyoto Machida - $40,000 (Win)
David Heath - $6,000 (Loss)
Cheick Kongo - $40,000 (Win)
Assuerio Silva - $8,000 (Loss)
Terry Etin - $42,000 (win) - $12,000 for win and $30,000 for sub of the night bonus..
Matt Grice - $3,000
Junior Assuncao - $6,000 (Win)
David Lee - $2,000 (Loss)
Alessio Sakara - $20,000 (Win)
Victor Valimaki - $3,000 (Loss)
Jesse Liaudin - $6,000 (Win)
Dennis Siver - $3,000 (Loss)
Paul Taylor - $8,000 (Win)
Edilberto Crocota - $4,000 (Loss)
CroCop got paid 350.000 to dream of Trigg...

Tell that to Matt Grice and David Lee! If you are a big name fighter your pay is going up, but the UFC really needs to come up with a minimum pay figure of 8-10 thousand bucks. $2,000 would barely cover the cost of two nice seats at your typical UFC event.

I see Lyoto and Kongo get paid nice amounts of money. Makes me wonder how much Rich is going to get paid after he signs his new contract because thats what he makes now. 350,000 for 5 minutes of work is not bad, even tho he got knocked the fuck out.
Love the comment about dreaming about trigg

I think Franklin makes more than his pay-outs show.
Yeah 350,000 for 5 min is not bad at all. I'd let Gonzaga knock me out for that much money, lol.

When your only making a couple of grand those best fight, best sub, and best KO bonuses are some major motivation. Etim went from making 12K to making 42K. He's gotta be LOVING that.
Also I want to point out that there was almost a quarter million dollars paid out in the AA-Werdum suckfest.

Lyoto is another guy who signed with the WFA originally, for what I guess was a flat rate of 40 per (Herring got 60 per and Rampage 80 per I believe). I think this is part of the reason he has been buried by the UFC so far, they don't want to raise his value in the short term until they signed him to a new deal on their terms.
As for Rich, he'll probably be pulling down 6 figures per fight when he re-signs but I don't see him getting as much as the big guns.

That is a huge investment in Cro Cop. He is of course one of the biggest draws in the sport, but if he should lose his next fight, the UFC is going to be paying 350k for three fights to a guy that's out of title contention.
