care to elaborate on that thought?
i agree he fights timid and i miss the old pitbull, that was what made me like him so much his headhunter mentality, and i hope he gets back to that, but i think he showed tonight that his chin isnt weak, its not great either, but probably average in my opinion of what ive seen.
BTW assuerio silva has a chin of stone!! my god, he got nailed with a TON of shots and never even flinched

hes been knocked out 4 times in his career, you can tell by watching his fights that his chin isnt strong, it doesnt matter if Rizzo hit him with hard shots.. weak chin doesnt mean only weak strikes knock you out.

so by your standards anyone that has been knocked out a few times has a weak chin? and i think part of how he fights is being worried about getting knocked out and part of it is just being smart and not wanting to take unnecessary punishment. i mean, no great fighters are just running around begging to trade shots. look at guys like cabagge, not a good fighting style in my opinion

well thats what a weak chin means so yes, I mean look at what happened in the Sylvia fight, the Datsik fight, the Rizzo fight.. clean shots on the chin and he was out its obviously not a strong point for him.

I think it's dumb to say he's "started fighting timid." He wasn't timid at all against Cruz and he sure as hell wasn't timid in the first round against Werdum. What he was is CAUTIOUS. He got the knock downs on Werdum and didn't want to rush in and be caught like in the second fight with Sylvia. It's obvious from the first round that he's got his killer instinct back; he's just alsio smart enough to avoid staying up close with the #1 HW grapper in the world.
As for his chin, it's still weak. It's exaggerated by some, but you could see him retreat instead of exchanging blows when Werdum went for flurries. I think he knew he could get KOed if he traded punches, so he was looking for the one-shot counterpunch KO. He came close a few times but couldn't quite finish.

Caustious and timid are the same thing when it comes to fighting he was pushin the pace till Werdum rocked him. He was either worried about gettin knocked out or gassed. And yeah he wasnt timid against Cruz cause his striking is absolute garbage

well i think anyone that relys on their chin as a strong point probably wont make it too far in MMA, especially with how technical some strikers are getting, standing and throwing shot for shot with someone just isnt a good strategy. the point is to hit them and not let them hit you. thats just my opinion though.
i like hearing everyones opinions though

Yes he has a weak chin, all of his losses except for his decision loss to tim are from KO/TKO. 4/5 KO/TKO out of all of his losses = weak chin

What he was worried about is fighting up close, clenching, and getting subbed. He was looking for a one-shot KO. It's obvious he wasn't gassed. Werdum rocked him in round 1 and he still pushed the pace throughout the round. I think the fact of the matter is that Werdum statrted shooting for takedowns and trying to lure him into guard after being knocked down, which got AA worried. In fact, the reason he gave in the post-fight interview was that he knew BJJ wasn't something to mess around with.
The only time he looked to not have killer instinct was in the third fight with Sylvia, and he was fighting on one leg for most of that fight. Against Werdum, he obviously had his killer instinct back, but he was cautious because he was facing the most dangerous opponent he's ever been up against.
