Thought on UFC 70 (not a spoiler)

Given the tape delay do you think that the UFC/Spike might show the good bouts ending in KO/TKO and sub instead of showing the main card fights if the main card fights are boring?

I was thinking about this today and it would behoove the UFC to only show the good fights. They have the discretion to do that since it is not live in the US. I think this would be a great way to introduce some of the newer fans to what mma has to offer if they only show the good fights.

Any thoughts?

I think some fighters have it in their contracts that their fights must be on the main card, but frankly I'm not sure. If not, they still have to honour the fight card they had advertised because if a fight they promised wasn't shown it would lead to a bunch of complaints.

I actually thought for a moment that this would be a perfect opp. to actually give us the whole card since they aren't strapped (allegedly) to fit it into a PPV slot. But I figured that they wouldn't do that because it would set a precedent and make people start to expect whole cards, Lol.
So for that reason, to keep the product consistant, I think they'll just run this like a free PPV show. Show the mains, and add the unders as time permits

very true, but the fighters will still be paid for a main card fight they just might not televise it. I am sure Rogan and Goldie could spin it so the viewers understand the X fight was similar to Silva v Arlovski 3 so they are going to show the exiting fights and jsut give results on the others.

I don't know just a thought to get more people to watch the reruns or call friends like with the Bonnar/Griffin fight. That was like the most watched fight in mma history because of the replays and word of mouth.

they have a few more options with the spike show. but they do only have a few hours to edit it. the show should be just about over. it came on PPV in canada 2 hours ago

yeah I have been following the live results at mmaweekly. I just can't wait. have no patience-must know now. will def be watching tonight regardless.
