I've already been through this with Sundance - why would he cut 7lbs more than necessary? He's lost his fat but no way did he make a water cut or any other unpleasant trick to cut weight.

He wouldn't. He is 199 without cutting.

From here he could skip breakfast (1 lb), drink nothing (2lbs) have an enema (2lbs), a salt bath to lose subcutaneous water (another few lbs). After that he may need to sweat a little, but like I said it is a relatively small cut with no serious repercussions for performance.

Agreed. He can make the cut without it being a huge deal. I'm sure the first couple of cuts might affect his performance a little but once he got use to cutting that 13 lbs it would not be a problem. Not sure why everyone just thinks bc he is so ripped now that he can not simply cut the water weight. What Git said here makes perfect sense on how he could get down in just a few days (to make it easier then trying to in one day). I mean if Rich can make 185 them there is no reason why Machida can not.

However, dagreat1 makes a good point at Machida having a speed advantage at LHW. He will lose some of that advantage if he drops. But I do not think it is a bad idea to drop. It is just where he thinks he will be more successful at.

Hahahahhaaaaa lol @ going back and completely changing your post after you realized you are wrong. That's pretty darn low dude.

? I changed nothing, I just added the above because you are cynical so I wanted to cover that basis and save a pointless post incase you pulled the "it's possible for him to cut 13lbs" which is just statig the obvious anyway.

A low fibre or clear fluid diet and then the day before the fight take sodium picosulfate is going to render him like Travis Lutter vs Anderson Silva.

Why would he come in at 199lbs if 206lbs is acceptable? Becase that is what he is comfortable fighting at, why is he not 215-220lbs like he was fighting at before? Apparently he wanted to improve his quickness and cardio. Why would HW's just not all come in at 250lbs-265lbs? Because weight advantages are overrated and well rounded fighters do not need them.

If he drops to MW, he loses the speed advantage he has at LHW.

The point probably was that he didnīt cut any weight, otherwise he would have been 206 because it wouldnīt make sense to cut more than you have to. Iīm not a big fan of weight cutting, but he could make 185 pretty easy, even jeremy horn is bigger than him. A lot of people cut more than 13 pounds and are in great shape when itīs time to fight.

I seriously don't think he can. My reason. I train and I know that if you fight at 205 and you cut from like 225 185 is not gonna happen. at 199 the dude is a rock. 14 pounds is a lot more than people think. Im not sayind he couldn't but to still be the same type of fighter he is right now no he would not be. He would lose his speed advantage. He is 199-205 for a reason and oh by the Way wandy has weighed in at 199 or 195 before does this mean he could cut maybe 10 pounds and fight at 185 I bet everyone says no. Cro-Cop said it best No way I could make 205 unless you wna tme to cut my hand off then maybe but if Chuck Liddell wnats to fight me he will have to meet me at about 218.
