I think Dana White is asking himself that question as well, that is the reasoning behind the Werdum fight because lets be honest, casual fans have no idea who Werdum is, yet this will be AA"s most difficult fight to date (barring Datsik of course).
So IMO what this looks like is Dana giving Werdum a chance at instant cred in the UFC meaning this match is actually geared towards Werdum and not AA because if AA was to focal point for a title shot shortly, he would be fighting Jake O'Brien and not Fabricio.
Just my 2 pennies.
And Afro is right about the Randleman thing and him being known for having power (though he is recognized for his wrestling). Quinton was interviewed and asked "of his oppoents, which one hit the hardest" Quinton replied "Randleman, that motherfucker hit HARD".
This coming from Quinton who has had huge shots bounced off of his chin by Chuck and Wanderlei so I take Quinton's word on it.
That left hook Mirko ate made him just crumble. I have not seen many heads snapped to the side that viciously from a left hook. Mirko's chin is solid, he has eaten lots of big shots in K-1 and been ok (though Michael McDonald hurt him badly but Mirko was taking them well).

AA was not really on his back though, he was basically sitting up and Cruz has a very frail chin but yeah for sure AA has brutal KO power in his hands.
