It is good for exposure, so yeah, I think it is good. Not sure LW is the best division to use (no offense to you LW lovers)

LW is the perfect division, they are much faster that any other weight division and sicne they are much smaller, they are able to fight at an incredible pace for much longer than any other weight division.
Plus the vast majority of PRIDE's LW's are phenomenal strikers and right now, that is what the casual US fans want to see over a masterful ground game (because they have yet to really see a masterful ground game, hopefully Big Nog will open a lot of fans eyes to the dynamics of a world class BJJ game).

yeah i agree...there are alot of great strikers in the pride lw scene and most dumbass drunk casual mma fans want to see a fast pace with great striking and good ko's..i think the pride lw's( and maybe a few ufc ones) will do that just fine and itl be huge for pride if they put ona fast paced show...
and i think big nog will open alot of eyes, there have been some good bjj fighters but most causual fans dont get so see how excieting a great hw subb god can be...

if they plan on having the fighters fight more than once in the same night it's going to have to be in japan b/c no atheltic commission will allow that.

Can someone fix the thread title so that no more people are tricked into believing the LWGP is going to be in California?

Yes good point. What they will have to do is have the opening rounds in the US and then have the finals in Japan.

Oh, don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with the LW division. There are just no familiar faces to US fans, that is all. Well, some UFC people are going to do it, right? I forget who. Remember, faces draw crowds in the US.
