Pride LWGP postponed?
With this event being postponed by the fertittis,do you think that there might be any truth to the poster that has been flying around the internet with Hughes and sanchez on it?I think that we will see a number of ufc participants in the tournament.I understand the need for publicity for this event here in the states,but i also see it as a way of gaining time so that key players will be available to particpate.So what is everyones idea or conspiracy theories?

That poster was created by DSE not the Fertittas. DSE doesn't have any control of who is gonna be in the tourney. This has nothing to do with that really. It has more to do with the fact that they don't officially take over the company till May 1st and won't have time to promote the event.

Have they even figured out what weight the GP will be at?

The clue is in UFC's LW 155 or Pride's LW 160, thanks for trying to help though (in a smug way it seems).

Well it will either be 155 or 170 since they are going to the unified weight classes. It was booked to be lightweight so 155 is possible but I still see it possibly being at 170 since Pride will need a champ in their new weight class.

One thing's for sure, the guys on the poster will not all fight at 155.

That's what I was thinkin too, and a lot of people were complaining about the Gomi's, & Mach's of Pride's LW not being able to make 155 comfortably. I think this shift in weight classes will affect the Pride landscape more than people are anticipating.
Thanks for the info Clint, I never even considered it being a 170 GP.

someone like gomi would be able to make 170 easier. and hes stated he wanted to fight hughes and GSP.

Not such a great idea if he comes in like he did against Diaz. (And they don't smoke weed either) |
