New Rule i'd like to see
Now i don't think the Linland and Fedor fight would have ended different however i still think there should be some kind of rule against holding he ropes. Now your going say there is one.. they just deduct a point but in the past it has to be someone doing it several times. So this is what i would like to see in every MMA org.
If the guy holds the ropes/cage to get a clear advantage than the person who didn't gets to choose if he wants the guy to go to guard or to standup. This way a refree doesn't have to take a point away because no ref wants to do that anyway.
I am just sick of a guy cheating to get in the top posistion or something it happens quite frequently ... and if they don't want to do anything about it than they shouldn;t have the rule... So it should either be fixed to make sure that the guy getting the take down actaully gets it not cuz some guy cheated his way on top and finished the fight...

Or they could make the ropes electrically charged so that no one grabs them ever again.

That is the way is suppose to be now but is never used... and lets face it no ref wants to take away that point if it is a close fight... and i don't think they should... with a rule i said earlier where you let that guy choose the position either stand or in the other guys guard this would make guys think about holding the ropes or cage. This would only be implenmented if the holding of the cage resulted in the holder getting a better position than the guy trying to get him down.

IFL doesn't either...I think if you are going to use a ring you need those people outside like Pride.
