Could Matt Lindland be all hype?
I couldn't help but notice, and correct me if I'm wrong but the only reason Matt is the #1 ranked MW ignoring Hendo and A Silva is because he gave Rampage a good fight? Honestly, who has he beaten? A mediocre Newton, Horn, and his best win over Pat Militich (who hasn't really been all that impressive even in his prime IMO.) With loses to David Terrell and Falaniko Vitale.
Now don't get me wrong, I think he has improved but maybe people might be jumping the gun here by saying he is the best MW around. Hell, I think A Silva and Hendo would give Rampage a hell of a fight, I could even see them winning.
Opinions?

Hell, Murilo Bustamante is better than Matt Lindland. Not only did he beat Lindland, but IMO he did better against Rampage. In fact, he was facing a better Rampage than Lindland faced too. He also took Chuck to a decision.
Lindland's maybe got the best ground control of any MW except for Hendo, but overall I put him near the bottom of the top 5.

I think the reason he gets #1, is because of who he has fought, who he trains with and that he took a silver in the Olympics.
But I agree he should not be ranked #1 based on him being a Prize Fighter and not a Title fighter. However, I think he would beat anyone at 185 right now personally...but statisically he should not be ranked #1.

I don't see him beating Hendo but I think Dana should give him a contract again. If people are saying he's the best, let him prove it.

I think he can beat Anderson but in no way should he be ranked ahead of him. Whoever mentioned Busta is right, he gets totally robbed on the rankings

I don't think Lindland is ALL hype, but it would help if he fought some ranked guys that are NOT out of their prime.
I would like to see him fight Franklin, Silva, little Nog, Marquardt, Okami, Salaverry or even Leben (not in any order), just to get a good feel for him.

I don't think Hendo and Matt would fight. Hendo would probably just goto 205.
