Default Women and MMA

A serious question. We see women in boxing, the world combat league has women, pumping iron and throwing down on the mat. Would you want to see women in MMA? UFC, Pride, etc? Why or why not?

I would like to see it. I think it would be awesome to have some women in there proving they have "it" just as bad as the guys do. They want equality, here is their chance. Throw on some gloves and a mouthpiece and go at it.

There are plenty of orgs that have female fighters. The WEC being one of the bigger ones. I am all for female MMA however not in the UFC simply because it would spread them too far (atleast at the moment) to add a couple of female weight classes to the 5 they already have.

It does not really matter to me either way.

I'm not sure if it would spread them too thin. They could have one weight class for women, for the time being, and buy another night on Spike and have another Fight Night during the week. Use it to show some of the newer or lower ranked fighters and the women. I think there are enough women in the combat sports that would make their way to the UFC if they asked. OR even the next season of TUF looking for female fighters in two weight classes.

I am cool with them fighting, I would just say that the fights are usually too boring for TV or PPV for me. Also there arn't that many good women to build a solid set of weight classes.

If MMA continues to grow I can see more women getting into it.

Like was said, they already have lots of women cometing in MMA. I would not expect them in the UFC or Pride as Dana White has made it crystal clear he does not think it belongs.

I think women in the UFC is a great idea. The UFC has a lot of women fans and I am sure that they would root for female fighters.

I would be more concerned with the large number of dumbasses that like to pay $250 for tickets to fights and then boo or make up stupid chants. Those are the idiots that I think would make it hard for the girls.

But overall I think if two girls want to go in the ring and beat the hell out of each other, go right ahead, to each its own. I'll be on the sidelines.
