He defeated Gomi but you make it sound liek he destroyed him. Have you seen their post fight interviews? Gomi is unscathed and Diaz is wearin a pair of oversized sunglasses that cover is entire face. Both eyes are black and his right eye is completely shit and swollen to the size of a baseball.

Gomi took Diaz down, dropped him with a punch, smushed his eye with an uppercut and took him down again, then got gogo'ed. Gomi got tired 2 minutes into the fight and has never done that before, he has always fought at that pace in all of his fights and for 10 minute rounds so had Gomi not gassed 2 minutes into the fight and DIaz still won the fight it would've been a much more impressive victory but Diax was getting pummeled up until Gomi gassed and could no longer raise his hands to block punches and had to use his face.

A buy for Diaz in the first round would be fine, I would bet the house on it though that Diaz would not win the tournament.

i think the poster is BS for a few reasons
1. lightweight is now 155, and there is no way Hughes could make 155
2. sanchez would be a tough cut as well as hughes.
3. there were no other UFC guys on the poster. if they had a 155 lb tournament with both rosters, and there was an official poster for it, it wouldn't be on some bs mmahq website. bullock or Boone or clint would've found it from a reliable source

Thats the same thing that jumped out at me. It says UFC vs. Pride with only two UFC guys (although two very good ones). Looks more like traditional DSE antics then what I was hoping for under the new managment. I think it looks like a pretty keen tournament, but they need to drop the UFC vs. Pride angle unless they're gonna make it fair.

Remember PRIDE 34? just becuase people or on the poster doesnt mean they are going to fight. The only thing this poster proves is that UFC guys will be coming over from both 155 and 170
