I am afraid of the novelty factor. I just can't see the fans dealing with it in a respectful way on the professional level. Hell, they boo now anytime there isn't a picture perfect KO. Imagine the fans when 2 girls stand up and circle for 3 rounds.

The biggest problem is the amount of competion, There just isn't alot of women who do MMA, and very few at a high level. women's boxing struggles with the same problem.
